Title: Organized Chaos
Author: Katie
Pairing: Jack Barakat/ OC
Rating: NC-17
Summary: “Yes. You're scared. And, I mean, you should be. I'm telling you that I'm going to be forcing you to face your fears. And that's fucking scary. But what I'm also saying is that I'm going to help you through it. So it's going to be fucking scary, but I'm going to be right there with you helping you through it...okay?” Jack felt calm and relaxed. He regularly felt that way around Wyatt, especially in the wee hours of the morning. “So?” Jack asked. “You up for it?”

“Is Wyatt back yet?” Jack asked, stepping onto the bus behind Adele and Landon. Alex let the door slam behind him, and Jack could see Vina cringe.

“No. And I’m sorry, but he’s not going to want all of these people here when he gets back. You and Alex need to leave,” she said, and both of the aforementioned boys raised their eyebrows.

“I’d like to see my boyfriend, and make sure he’s okay. If he wants me to leave, he can tell me to himself,” Jack said cooly, and Vina looked at him blankly for a few seconds before turning away to continue cleaning off the booth table.

“Can I come inside, or do I have to stand on the stairs?” Alex questioned, poking Jack in the back. The younger boy moved forward and out of his way, allowing his friend to enter the small living space of the tour bus. He didn’t notice the small garbage can that Vina had set near the door as a reminder it needed emptying, accidentally kicking it and sending it tumbling over.

“Are you kidding? Watch where you’re walking! I just cleaned this place spotless!” she snapped, rushing over to pick all of the garbage up. Alex stood, holding his hands up in defense as he stared at her quick reflex.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t see it there,” Alex answered, and she rolled her eyes.

“This is why there shouldn’t be all these people here. Wyatt is going to be very upset when he gets home. You’ll only get in the way,” Vina answered, shoving the garbage into the wastebasket once again.

“I really don’t think having two extra people here is going to be that big of a deal,” Jack answered.

“You don’t know Wyatt, Jack. I do,” Vina answered, and Jack cocked an eyebrow.

“I may not know him like you do, but I can assure you I only want the best for him. I would like to make sure he’s okay when he gets back. Now please knock off your whole holier-than-thou attitude and recognize you are not the only one concerned about Wyatt,” he said shortly and Vina gave a glare before walking off the bus to empty the small trash can.

“Well, this whole thing is becoming very awkward,” Landon said, making a face.

“I don’t think anyone ever stands up to Vina about Wyatt. Kudos to Jack,” Adele said, nodding her head. “I approve.”

“What time is he supposed to get back? Matt’s going to come looking for us soon,” Jack said, checking his phone. He looked over at Alex, who was scowling at the door. “Why are you so quiet?”

“I can’t even fucking breathe around here without being reprimanded. My mother doesn’t even talk to me like that!” Alex exclaimed and Jack ruffled his hair.

“Wyatt should be back soon. I know he’ll make sure he has enough time to get ready before the show begins,” Adele told him and Jack nodded.

“Okay. Flyzik will want sound check soon, but they don’t positively need me for that,” he answered, shrugging his shoulder.

“Not like you know how to play guitar anyway,” Alex grumbled and Jack smiled at him.

“Cheer up, buttercup. You’re gonna wrinkle your fivehead,” Jack teased, poking his best friend in the cheek.

The door opened about a minute later, and Vina entered, followed by a distraught looking Wyatt. Jack stood up, moving towards his boyfriend.

“Hey, babe,” Jack, reaching his arms out to wrap them around his boyfriend’s waist Wyatt cringed away, causing Jack’s arms to fall back to his sides. His stomach twisted slightly and he bit his lip, stepping away from Wyatt. “Can’t you just give me a quick hug? I want to apologize and then I’l-”

“Obviously he doesn’t want to, Jack!” Vina said, glaring. “I cleaned for you, so you can just go back to your bunk and relax, if you’d like.”

“I can’t just relax! This place is filthy! I-it needs to be perfect! Give me that!” He grabbed the sponge from her hands, beginning to scrub the counter.

“Wyatt, can I just talk to you for a second?” Jack asked, but Wyatt didn’t look up at him.

“I can’t talk right now, Jack. I need to clean. This place is a mess,” Wyatt told him, shaking his head.

“It’s spotless, actually. Please, babe, just stop and give me your attention for one second,” Jack said, putting his hand on Wyatt’s forearm. Wyatt brushed him off, continuing to clean. “Wyatt!”

“I need to do this, Jack!” Wyatt exclaimed, and his boyfriend grabbed his face, causing him to pause and stare at him in shock.

“You don’t need to. It’s a compulsion, not a need, Wyatt. Just stop cleaning and listen to me for a second, please,” Jack said, looking him in the eye.

“I- I’m sorry. I can’t handle this right now. I-I-I have to do this,” Wyatt stuttered, shaking his head and moving away from Jack.

“Stop trying to change him,” Vina said, sending a glare towards the dark-haired boy.

“I’m not trying to change him! Will you just stop fucking talking to me?! I understand you don’t want me here, okay? Quit being a bitch,” Jack snapped at the petite girl, who slit her eyes at him.

“Don’t call her that,” Wyatt said, frowning at his boyfriend.

“She’s been acting like one all day!” Jack exclaimed before he shook his head. “You know what, whatever! I was worried about you all day, and I felt bad for making you almost late and ruining your routine this morning. I just wanted to say I’m sorry, so there you go. I’m sorry for fucking you all up. I’ll leave now.”

The guitarist motioned to his best friend who stood up off the couch, walking with him out the door.

Wyatt frowned, staring at the door his boyfriend had just walked out of. He hadn’t meant to hurt the boy, especially when he knew all he was doing was trying to show him he cared. He scrubbed at the corner of the counter for another second before throwing the sponge down and stepping away from the counter.

“Wyatt, where are you going?” Vina asked, and he glanced at her.

“I need to talk to my boyfriend,” Wyatt said simply, walking towards the door.

He walked outside, seeing Jack’s messy black hair as he rounded a corner on the way back to his own bus. Wyatt walked quickly after him, calling out his name.

Jack stopped and turned, looking back at the boy who was following him. He glanced over at Alex, who raised an eyebrow.

“I’ll meet you back at the bus,” Jack told him and Alex nodded, clapping him on the shoulder. He left the couple alone, and Jack looked at Wyatt curiously. “What?”

“You wanted to talk...” Wyatt said, looking down at his shoes. The loops of his shoe laces were uneven, and he counted the millions of cracks in the dried asphalt.

“You wanted to clean,” Jack answered, shrugging.

“Jack, don’t be upset with me, please,” Wyatt said, frowning. “I really am trying. I just had a really stressful day and can’t help it. I need things to be organized and in their place and-”

Jack cut him off, leaning down and pressing his lips to Wyatt’s.

“You were rambling,” Jack stated simply after he pulled away, looking into Wyatt’s wide, shocked eyes. He chuckled, leaning his forehead against his and kissing him again. “I’m not upset with you. But I really care about you, and I really only want to help you. I’m sorry if I pushed you too hard this morning. Just say the word and I’ll stop, okay?”

“Okay,” Wyatt said, nodding slowly.

“I have sound check now, though. You can go back and clean if you want,” Jack said, holding his hand and kissing his fingers. “Whatever you need to do to unwind from your stressful day.”

“Y-yeah. I will,” Wyatt answered, nodding.

“And if you need any help unwinding, please don’t hesitate to call me,” Jack said teasingly, sending the other boy a wink and causing him to blush a deep red.
