Losing Beat was devastating, losing Chuck another painful reminder of the frequency with which it seemed that Serena could count on her friends vanishing. She'd seen enough people leave in her life, been walked out on without reason or explanation, and no amount of knowing this was the nature of the island made it any easier. Maybe people didn't choose to go, but they still left. And she still didn't know why.

Try though she might to keep her chin up and enjoy the time she had with those she had left, it was only a matter of time before it happened again. She honestly, though, hadn't expected to find Eric's room all but empty. He'd been without a roommate for a few weeks now, but there had, at least, still been the signs of his continued presence, though he'd always kept his room cleaner than Serena ever did. Now it seemed as if he hadn't been there in some time, what remained of his property lying around, neat and untouched.

Something wrenched tight in her gut and she left the run, staggering backwards and taking off down the hall at a run, ignoring the instinct that said there was no point. There were tons of places Eric could have gone. He had to still be around, just staying with someone else or working or something, anything but having vanished on her completely.

Find her anywhere, hunting him down. Set to today.
