[February 15th, the Catscratch Club]

Feb 14, 2009 12:29

Spotted: Nate Archibald, birthday boy extraordinaire. When in doubt, it's been said, turn to the local strip club. It may not exactly be tea and cupcakes or dinner at Socialista, but with the alcohol flowing and friends around, who cares? I'm sorry, was that sappy? Call me nostalgic, but put these Upper East Siders in a club and I just know all my ( Read more... )

This was probably one of the most uncomfortable things to ever happen to Jason Stackhouse. Other uncomfortable events that compared were: being tied to a bed overnight, finding out his girlfriend was into kidnapping pudgy vampires, and of course, that time Sookie read his mind while he was jerking off.

But here he was, in jeans and a white button-up, trying to look cool and like he belonged-- like he wasn't being out-classed by a bunch of kids. And trying to pretend he wasn't spending time thinking about tumbling Jenny into bed.

On the other hands, secrets were pretty hot.

Jason took a long drink, and leaned against the bar.

When she caught sight of Jason at the bar, any thoughts she'd had of how awkward this might have been went out of her head. Jenny grinned as she approached -- casual, still, with the number of people around, but pleased all the same -- and taking a seat beside him, ordered herself a martini.

"So, good party?" she asked brightly, biting her lower lip as she turned to look at him. "I still can't believe the bar they have in this place."

Sookie is gonna kill me.

I had better think of something to blackmail her ass with.

There were about ten different things that Jason wanted to do, most varying on touching her, but he knew better than to get branded a sex offender in front of the kids. Even if most people would argue he was with his mental equals.

Or, he thought, looking at their fresh, preppy faces, his betters.

"It's a good party," he agreed. "I can't believe they're serving you guys. I would have walked across the state to get here at this age."

"Really?" Jenny asked, honestly a little surprised. Maybe living in New York and keeping the company she did had spoiled her, but none of this was too out of the ordinary for her. "It's pretty easy to get served underage in Manhattan, you just have to know where to look." She shrugged. "And I'm pretty sure people don't really care about age here, anyway."

Of course, it wasn't just drinking she was talking about with the last sentence, but she wasn't going to make too much of that here.

Jason laughed, though mostly at the bit about being served underage. "Yeah, well, one of my buddies just decided he'd make his own. I went temporarily blind. Just for a week or two... I kinda learned my lesson after that."

He scrubbed a hand through his hair. "Lost my sense of taste for a while, too. Won me a lot of bets."

Jenny cringed sympathetically, wrinkling her nose a little as she took another sip of her own drink, suddenly grateful for it and how lucky she'd been, comparatively, back home. "Well, I'm glad you got it back," she said, still a little startled by the notion, then faltered. "Your sight, I mean. Not that - your taste, too, I just - you know what I mean."

He grinned. "I deserved it, for bein' dumb. Experience is the very best teacher. That's what my Gran always said, usually when she was patching me or Sookie up."

Jason looked out at the pretty young people milling around. "So hey, tell me a little about all of them."

Jenny nodded in approval, a little more serious until his request, at which she grinned. "Alright," she said, then shifted a little so she could glance out at the crowd. "The ones I know, anyway. There're a lot of people here I haven't met yet." Figuring it was the best place to start, if a little awkward, she caught sight of Nate and gestured in his direction.

"That one's Nate -- the one whose birthday it is. He used to date Blair, who is..." Pausing a moment, she pointed at the brunette next, and then Chuck. "That one, until she slept with Chuck. Chuck is one of the two guys I lived with, and -- " Biting her lip, Jenny blushed. "Well, technically he was my first kiss, but I don't really count that."

"And why don't you count it?" Jason asked, with the intuition of a guy who'd threatened a whole lot of other guys for offenses of this nature. His baby sister was weird, but she was undeniably hot and there were guys willing to try it.

More than one had secretly met his ass-kickin' chain.

"It's -" Jenny waved a hand through the air, dismissive. She shouldn't have even mentioned it. "It's a long story. We were both drunk, and, well, I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. It wasn't really a big deal." There was no nicer way of saying he'd nearly raped her that she could think of, but as far as she was concerned, it was just as much her own fault for going up to the roof with Chuck Bass and a bottle of alcohol. It was a long time ago, anyway. The past few months had proven that there wasn't a chance of it happening again.
