I'm feeling really good about these guys lately. I've gotten a group now where I feel pretty secure with the lot of them. Obviously, some are louder than others, but they're a good bunch at the moment. As sorry as I was to lose Donna and Sacharissa, it really was time for both of them to go, and I feel much more stable with my lot now.

Veronica Mars
It's been one of Veronica's quieter months, but that was to be expected with all I had going on for Serena and with Sarah's arrival. The Council elections are coming up, and while I've not been very good at using her to help get stuff done, I know she's going to want to run again anyway. It's such a far cry from where she was in canon, but when there's no investigation work to get done, this is what she has. She wouldn't say so ordinarily, but she believes in the potential the island has, and that's a pretty big step for her, actually. I also need to thread her again with Pam, now that she's had a considerable amount of time to get used to the idea of her existence. She may also need a thread with River, partly because of Simon's disappearance and partly because I love them. I'd like, next month, to start getting her out more and having her meet more people, and it occurs to me that, now that she's in her third year, it may be time to give her one of the bigger, more scarring kinds of items, simply because I can. I will not be aging her down for Halloween.

Eden McCain
Though the last few months have seen Eden quieter and quieter, the desire to play her is still very much there, so I'm working again on bringing her back out and having her meet more people and trying to find a niche for her. She's been showing an interest in acting, but there aren't enough parts on the island and there exists already a surplus of talented actors - more talented than her, certainly - so, I don't know, there are probably other options she can explore. Mostly she wants something to do with herself, instead of being idle. It seems like she's been pretty busy lately, but it's largely been in a behind the scenes kind of way - she's single again, she's helping deal with Penny and Gideon getting married, she's made a couple new friends in Zia, Harriet and possibly Grigg. She won't be aged down for Halloween, but she'll have her hands full with her miniature BFFs anyway. If she dresses up, I don't know what it'll be as.

Meredith Grey
Despite the fact that I haven't tagged her around as much or EPed her, Meredith has been pretty loud this month. I always feel bad about EPing her, because she's one of those for whom I lose steam fairly quickly, it seems, even though she's loud when she's on. She's got a couple good friendships and hardly knows anyone else, but she really doesn't mind that. I've finally decided once and for all on her item (I changed my mind, but the other one I'd chosen can always come next year if I want it to), and she is absolutely getting that in her next EP at the start of next month. I'm really excited about this, since it's something I can actually use to play with other the weeks following. I'd like to get her into therapy after that, something she'd started in canon and dropped on the island (because after turning up on a magical island, you need it less). She needs to thread with Ellie and Cameron and I don't know who else. She's going to be aged down for Halloween to about 9 years old and, thanks to Sam Seaborn, she will be dressed as an Indian princess. Yeah, really. She may be, as Deense put it for Sam, getting too attached, but she doesn't think about it, so it's okay.

Serena van der Woodsen
Serena had pretty much half of the tags I was doing at any given moment, if not more, this month (up until Sarah showed). It's been seriously crazy for her, and, at the same time, apparently not enough, because I'm constantly sitting around like, uuuuugh, Serena needs more threads. She doesn't. She's going to drive you crazy and she's going to drive me crazy and everyone will be sick of her. And yet I still feel this compulsive need for her to meet pretty much everyone. Because she loves all of you. Except maybe Brian Kinney. She's not so fond of him. Okay, anyway, she enjoyed the rain, she enjoyed meeting Pigby, she enjoyed being a cheerleader. The month started well, if rainy.

And then Dan showed up and all hell broke loose, and it was AMAZING. So in the space of a week, what you get is: her ex-boyfriend showing up, her sleeping with her current boyfriend for the first time, Jenny Humphrey, an arranged date between a new friend and her old boyfriend, a masked ball, a fist fight and her best friend sleeping with her ex. So now they're ~trying to be friends~, and god knows that never works (I mean, they even tried it in canon and it blew up in their faces, and I am waiting for that to happen and it excites me a lot, because I love angry Serena so much, you guys, so much). Anyway, it's awkward as hell, so Serena gets to participate in her very favorite pasttimes, Denial and Avoidance, which you'd think could only last so long, but this girl is a champion denier, so, I mean, the last time she started on this route, it lasted a year and involved a death, so anything could happen here, I mean anything. And she doesn't even know about Dan sleeping with Blair! And let me tell you, when she knows, it will be explosive. Meanwhile, she's keeping Jenny's secret about the Valentino (actually, by now, she's probably mostly forgotten that she even knew that to begin with). She's also made about a dozen new friends and she loves them all. When it comes to love of the romantic sort, though, she gets skittish and bolts before that horse can even leave the gate, so that's fun, too. What else? Hmmm. I don't really feel the need to plot much for her, because stuff just happens, as you can see, but I do have two things in the works.

On Halloween, she will be de-aging to about 5 years old and will be dressing up as Sleeping Beauty. Probably there will be a post for all the UESers to gather, should they so choose, regardless of age, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to EP her as well, because she's so damn loud and because her ageswitch PB is adorable. After that, next month, I'd like to have her find some copies of Women's Wear Daily and Page Six so she can see what she's been up to at home with Poppy Lifton, modeling for Eleanor, etc., although maybe I'll save that until her new boyfriend turns up in canon and she can see that she moved on at home, too, (as I'm sure they'll be on Page Six, too, given their apparent penchant for making out in public places*) which would be a nice pat on the back for her. Or something.

Ryan Atwood
Marissa showed up at the start of the month and Seth followed last week, so Ryan's largely been dealing with that and with getting punched by Dan. He's actually been somewhat quiet the last couple weeks despite all that, which, as with Veronica, I blame on Serena and Sarah, but I expect things to start picking up again soon. For now, he has his three closest friends back - and we should totally do a thread with all four of them together, you guys, because I love them, oh my god - and he's thrilled about that. Aside from them, he has Lucy, O-Ren and football, that last especially not being something he'd ever really expected, but it's a good way to fill the time. I will not be aging him down for Halloween, although I think I'll have to inflict a crackplot on him next time one rolls around.

Sarah Walker
Brand new and so very much fun, oh my god. All the other Chuck pups are such a joy to play off of, so I feel like I'm in good hands here. Her first EP was greeted so enthusiastically, too, and it's both thrilling and a little daunting to see how many people want to play off her already. I don't know if I'm quite hitting all the notes yet, but she's a character I've really loved for just ages and ages, and I feel like I'm at least keeping my head above water so far. Just arriving on the island means plenty of plot for her. She'll want to explore and really get to know as much of the island as possible, for one thing. She'll also be keeping an eye on Chuck and Not Dealing with her feelings for him, attending a dinner at Casa Bartowski and working with Casey. All the threads in her first EP have been seriously awesome, and I know she'll be getting to know everyone better (even if they won't be getting to know her very well), especially Pam and the other two Sara(h)s. Halloween will see her helping prepare for the annual Bartowski party, but she won't be aged down this time (because I want her, when I do, someday, age her down, to be eighteen).

The Future
The next pup I have queued is Elle Bishop from Heroes, and I'm still wild to play her, though I wish canon would either give me more to work with or drop her completely. She'd be quite a challenge and I'm really excited about that, as little as Veronica wants a clone. Of course, this won't be until Q1 regardless, so I'm just sitting back and waiting to see what I get from the show in the meantime.

* Also, his dad is Wallace Shawn, LULZ. A+++
