Anne, who lives down the hall from me, berated me for not updating my livejournal frequently enough. She claimed it was a tool of distraction for her and who am I to stifle procrastination? So here it is…an update.

I know this is horribly cliché…but five weeks has flown by like its no one’s business. It feels like just yesterday I moved in, went to my first classes, got dragged around St. Louis on our first Hewlett tour. Yet, at the same time, it feels like a million years since I’ve been to the beach or driven through canyons or done anything back in Los Angeles.
I think time goes by faster in Missouri. It’s always Friday before I know it, and that’s usually a good thing. Weekends go by even quicker or maybe that’s because I have to catch up on my sleep.
As every week goes by I feel slightly more disconnected from my floor and more connected to the other architecture kids (maybe we’ve bonded on the death marches, ahem, “walking tours”). I feel like it would be nice to have more friends who didn’t live down the hall or have five of six classes with me, but oh well. I feel like I’ve known some of them a really long time, which is a nice feeling.
Homesickness hit the other night, which I knew would happen. It is odd though because I’m enjoying life here. I realized a bad solution to homesickness is talking to people still there.

Oh, and Taylor, since my journal wasn’t ample procrastination material I referred Anne to yours. You may have a new internet stalker. *Evil laugh*
