[Character Name] Toris Laurinaitis
[Canon] Axis Powers Hetalia
[Point Taken from Canon] Modernized / Present Day

[Age] 1002, but kind of also 19. It's a Hetalia thing.
[Gender] Male (mentally and physically)
[Sexual Orientation] Kinsey 1 or 2, but I like to think that how comfortable he finds himself with a person is a greater factor than gender to him.

[Eye Color] ardus
[Hair Color] plaukas
[Height] 5' 10" and 154 lbs. (177cm and 69 kg) [This is slightly headcanon, and I explain my ideas with this here and here.]
[Other] Lithuania has an array of scars covering his back and possibly other places on his body, though they are never shown.
[Clothing] He has a habit of dressing casual formal. He can dress up if he wanted and he does when he needs to, more often this is at work or when he's trying to impress someone. Walking around and just day to day wear, though, is a lot more versatile. He also has the trademark Lithuanian military unifrom.

[Background] I would tl;dr but let's just give you this and this.

[Personality] Most people who first meet Lithuania see a shy, polite guy whom they can just sense they'll get along with. He's a nice guy and really easy to mesh with, and though he's a bit on the introverted side, he's quite popular in his own right with numerous people who enjoy him. Do him wrong? He'll be hurt, of course, but your transgressions will be forgiven in his own way, though it may take a while. That’s not to say he forgives AND forgets, however. He carries a lot of memories with him; it’s hard not to when you’re a country. He might not always say he forgives someone, but the relationship of whoever has troubled him will resume to normal quite quickly. He tends to look for the best in people and Lithuania's blind to a lot of faults, whether by density or just selective realization, or both. He's not necessarily trusting, however. Lithuania's been done wrong a few too many times to let his guard down so easily and he chooses who he's comfortable with. He’s polite and congenial to everyone, but when Lithuania is with those he’s close to, there is an obvious air of familiarity around him and he’s more relaxed.

Concerning his emotions, Lithuania might be easy to read, but he keeps most of his emotions on the inside. He'll continuously fret and fluster about something, enough to cause him great stress and probably an ulcer or two; he doesn't want pity or anyone to dote on him in times of need. More than anything, he wants to be independent: he's stubborn and no one needs to worry about him. He's got it all under control. He also has a strong sense of national pride and doesn't like that to be infringed upon. A bundle of nerves, Lithuania is always thinking about something. When living with Russia during WWII, he constantly worried over whether Poland was going to get invaded, whether Poland was ready for battle, whether Poland had any kind of defense. It's shown that he worries about his own safety, Poland's well-being, his brothers' (Estonia and Latvia) safety (though their relationship is a little lop-sided; Estonia and Latvia seem to hold him in higher regard than how he sees them), and even how America is doing. He's nervous in general and is like a mom and housewife rolled into one, always concerned about the general state of those close to him, enough to take a lot of loads onto his own shoulders.

He likes to take care of those he cherishes too, unafraid of taking on more than his share of the work, though it's something he doesn't necessarily choose for himself sometimes, and he might complain about it a little along the way. He does find enjoyment and fulfillment in it, though, as seen with taking care of the laid back America after World War I. When forced to do things he doesn’t like or agree with, such as doing Russia’s bidding or being subjected to one too many of Poland’s whims, he doesn’t enjoy himself nearly as much. Lithuania is also kind of indebted to and knows a lot of countries, what with being moved around a lot and having to have a little assistance to stay afloat. Once, upon seeing Japan, he thanked him profusely and was very congenial towards him, all because Japan supported him a little during a tough time. Though he likes to try to stay within the bounds of his close friends and brothers, he's a decent guy who likes those who help him and works well with them. Once you get to know him he becomes not quite genuine, but cordial.

With all that concern and worry comes a bad spell or two. Though Toris is resilient, he's by no means optimistic. He knows that he’s still alive and now that he’s self reliant, it’ll all be okay in the end...maybe. But he's constantly got something heavy on his mind, and with people like Poland and Russia in his life, he's going to have a freak out occasionally. These range from annoyance to downright panicking, depending on how far he's pushed and the severity of the issue. He deals with a lot of stress, strain, and has had a hard time coping in the past, so he’s a little on edge, and one can’t really blame him. It's hard for him to be comfortable somewhere right off the bat. Since he was young, he's stayed close to only a select few people, namely Poland and his Baltic brothers, Estonia, Latvia, and Belarus (though that’s certainly debatable on her part). Though he's capable of getting close to others, he'd rather be with one of them than anywhere else and won't necessarily go out of his way to make friends, no matter how personable he seems.

By nature, he's a nostalgic individual. He can often, when asked, describe the time of life when he was happiest: his younger years; back when life was simpler and he had close to everything he could have ever wanted. Back in the day, Lithuania used to be a large and daunting nation, winning wars and being somewhat of a powerhouse (Though after the Commonwealth fell apart and Russia got a hold of him, things changed and he became someone more reliant on others. Not to say he doesn't know HOW to stand up for himself; he's perfectly capable now, he just chooses not to meddle in others affairs and the chance to fight hasn't sprung up again, though he wouldn’t battle unless absolutely necessary anyway. That and things just never seem to go his way; he has horrendous luck). He had independence, stability, and surety. He loves being stable and happy; something he'd been without for a long time until recently. The road for him has been rocky and he likes things to be mellow, where his worrisome personality doesn't cause him as much grief as it has recently. With his recent independence, though, he's got less on his plate to really bother him too much, though in the past he’s always had a lot to deal with and was over-worked a lot of the time.

Though he is of an independent mindset, Lithuania is decently submissive and easily pushed around and taken advantage of. He may complain about doing a certain something or other that he has to take on, but in the end he’ll get the job done and do it well. No matter what task is set before him, Lithuania will do it until it's done at 100% capacity, even though he might complain about it, depending on who's telling him to do it and/or the task. He's extremely good at menial chores, like housework and food preparation, and enjoys doing things for others when they deserve it. In the past, he’s lived with and/or worked for many people who have given him chores and loads of work to do, and he gets it done with an eventual “It can’t be helped” prerogative, even if they might be outlandish, degrading, or monotonous. Lithuania will bend over backwards and makes a wonderful grunt, though he doesn’t ever really want to be one, and he’ll take on any task given to him with only a moderate complaint or two. No matter the ordeal going on or the state he was in, he would always be able to get through it with a level head. Sure, he gets frustrated, and he still does, but he's a very patient person and it shows. When his patience does run out, he has a bit of a temper, but Lithuania showing anything more than mild irritation is rare. When it DOES happen, he’s prone to outbursts. Still, they don’t last long and are normally quelled rather quickly.

As I mentioned before, Lithuania's lived with people who required some taking care of. He's a caring guy who likes to provide for those he considers his good friends, worrying over them and acting as a support for them in their times of need. With Poland, he was always there for him during the Commonwealth, worried about him during the first partitioning, and called him during the Second World War Lithuania put up with whatever nonsense he would come up with, sometimes begrudgingly. Even though there were times he came to hate him, like their war over Vilnius in 1920, he always came back around; never holding a grudge for long. With the Baltic countries, he always took the brunt of the pain Russia dealt out and supported them, helping them in whatever way he could to make their life with Russia better. When he lived with America, he would do menial tasks for him, offer to help him in any way he could, he even slept in his bed when he asked him to. A lot of Lithuania's life has been spent taking care of others and making sure that they're okay.

Lithuania, over the years, has been thrown into many situations; a lot of which are awful, abhorrent, and downright hellish. After time, though, he's adjusted to whatever the situation is and taken it head on. Between moving from Poland to Russia to America and his fluctuating independence, he's kept a level head and grown to accept, and even sustain a certain level of comfortably, anywhere he ends up, though it differs from place to place and person to person. He's also by no means stupid. He knows how to correct a problem proficiently, even if he has to go at it a few different ways. He's shown to be well versed in battle tactics and strategy, serious about things to almost a fault. He looks at most things calmly and gets them done, normally achieving the best outcome. If he doesn't get it, he'll go back, rethink it, and do it again until he gets it right. He is also interested in literature and is a well read person. Lithuania, however, is a dense individual when people are involved. To be blunt, he’s not all that street smart and more so versed in the realm of reason and not interpersonal skills. Concerning Poland, he could never quite figure out where he stood with that guy, though it took a really intelligent and intuitive person to ever really get him anyway. With Belarus, she breaks his bones and treats him like dirt, and shrugs it off or thinks very little of it. Interpersonally, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and probably won't read in too much on how well one thinks of him. He’s also been known to not have too good a grasp on what he says which can sometimes turn around and bite him in the rear. Also, it's shown that he can seem a little flighty, and he can be a bit of a day dreamer, becoming a little over-comfortable. He's even fallen asleep on Russia and America (both figuratively and literally) when thinking back and recalling his past, acting as a relaxant.

Lithuania, now-a-days, can handle himself pretty well, except around Russia. Russia has always been a source of terror to him, be it present day or in the past. It's implied that Russia is the main source of his emotional and physical torment; a main catalyst in his nerves and stomach problems, not to mention the various scars on his back. Most people are at least a little afraid of Russia, but Poland is an exception. Any time Russia's tried to harass Lithuania, Poland's been there to ward him off, though it hasn't always proved to work. Even though Russia terrifies him to a certain extent, he’s been his grunt and lackey for long periods of time in the past.

[Specialties/Abilities] As per the Hetalia standard, it's impossible to kill a country unless the person committing the murder is another country. Here, Lithuania would just be a little sturdier than most, due both to his status and the fact that he's had a long row to hoe and seen a lot of battles in his day; making his pain tolerance pretty high. He'll be a bit stronger than most, but not enough to make it truly noticeable unless he goes all out; he won't take advantage of this unless it's completely necessary and advantageous to him.

When it comes to menial work, such as grunt tasks, cooking, cleaning, official duties, and secretarial like tasks, Lithuania is your guy. If practice makes perfect, then over the years he's gotten pretty damn good at the above. He knows his way around the kitchen though he's not on a professional chef by any means, and can probably get a stain out of anything with the right amount of elbow grease. Need something signed 20 times in 40 places? He can get that done too.

[Affection] Toris is kind of an anxious guy, and is okay with formalities, such as hand shaking or things of that nature. Pats on the back, high-fives, etc. Getting close or touchy feely is kind of a no go unless he knows who you are and is at that level of intimacy or friendship with you.

[Fighting] Battle wise, he's pretty adept at sword fighting and has a peaking interest in martial arts. The swordplay he's fallen out of touch with, but it's kind of like riding a bike: not too hard to get the hang of once you pick one up again. What he lacks in recent practice he makes up for in his fighting spirit and battle prowess. Martial arts, wise, he wouldn't have more than a basic understanding of the fundamentals; more book smart than physically strong with it, though he can throw a pretty good punch. Fighting is alright, as is injuring him. Killing, we'd need to talk about.

[Other Permissions] You can do pretty much whatever you want as long as you aren't crossing any major lines with him. Fourth wall breaking is a little awkward, so I'd like to shy away from that.

[Other Facts] He likes condiments. A lot. Spices, dill, toppings. Garnishsexual.
