The thought of his own bed had kept him going today. He'd pull another late nighter, caught up in some research, then had to wake up early for classes and head straight to work right afterward. He'd skipped lunch too, something he normally wouldn't have done, but there'd been too much to get done today with too little time to do it in. He'd managed

Like. Studying. Or planning what he had to do for his finals project. Or grading papers. Yeah. Stuff like that.
Not thinking about what he saw inside at all.
Goddamn it. He was trying not to think about it. Not sit here facepalming as he tried to erase that image and NOT discuss what happened to Cayden.

Needless to say he'd had the same look on his face that day too.
"Is it Ravel again?" he prompted, glancing over towards the door. He was somewhat doubtful though, there weren't the same warning noises that he'd gotten used to whenever he thought about visiting Ravel in his room at a bad time.

Yes, studying. Something about engineering. Nice and complicated.

Giving Ky one last curious look, he stepped around the other man and unlocked the door, stepping into the room.
... Only to step back out a moment later, staring blankly at the now closed door.

Back outside, Ky had bent his head over a text and was trying to read it and not think of what he had walked in on earlier.

Why my computer? was the only thing he could really think.
After a few more moments of silence and staring and trying to forget, Cayden finally cleared his throat with the one suggestion he could think of to help them forget everything that'd happen in the last few minutes.
"Wanna get some drinks?"
Reply
"Gladly."
He shut the book and shoved it away into his backpack as he stood. Normally, he would have stashed it in the room before going, but this time. No, he'd rather not open the door again. Maybe in a couple hours.
And at least it hadn't been his own computer.

Oh jeez he'd just had another flashback.
He shook his head unconciously, glancing over at his roommate.
"... So when'd you get back?" he attempted weakly.
Reply
Goddamn it, he had to stop thinking about it.
"Five minutes before you did," he finally responded.

"Class let out early?" The weak attempts at conversation were really quite obvious if anyone had bothered listening in on them.

He glanced back over at Cayden. "You?"

"Work let me go early today." It hadn't been as busy as his boss had thought it would, so Cayden had volunteered to be the one to go home. He'd needed to catch up on some homework, having set it aside to delve into his own research, but that could most certainly wait, given the circumstances.
"Where'd you want to head for drinks?"

Normally, he preferred the pub two blocks down from the engineering department, but. Well. Cheaper food was nice. And if forced to be honest, Ky didn't want to risk seeing Derek or Kane tonight. He'd prefer less headaches after that last-
Damn it. His eyebrow twitched.
"I'll pay for drinks."

It really was that hard to forget.
"We'll split," he replied automatically, something Ky was probably used to hearing in their time together.

"You pay for food, I'll cover drinks," Ky bargained.

"You didn't eat yet?"
