@
grande_caps Open your canvas and paste your image in it, since I love center crops, I went for one of them!
Now with a soft rounded brush paint some lights on the image, I never use plain white, but mostly this #eeeee8 which is very nice and useful. My image after blurring the lights (gaussian blur 4) looks like this.
DON'T WORRY, copy your base, drag it on top and set it on multiply 100% it's dark but believe me, works pretty. Everything should look like this.
Now, copy all the merged layer (ctrl+shift+c) and paste them on top, set the layer on screen.
See? Much better, but not done yet. Duplicate the screen layer and lower the fill ad 50%
Now, duplicate the layer and set it on multiply with the fill at 34% (yes, this part is a bit boring!)
Now we're going to add more lights (never enough lights!) this time the layer with the #eeeee8 light will be on top left, don't forget, once you're painted your light to use the gaussian blur, it makes everything better! Lower this layer fill at 77%
Copymerge all layer again (ctrl+shift+c) and paste it on top, set this layer on multiply 56%
duplicate the layer and set it on softlight at 100% fill.
Okay, not the base is ready! (yes, long passages, but worth the making)
Now we start with the colouring part!
Vibrance
+78 / +5
!!IF you don't have vibrance, you can use the hue/saturation tool adding +25 saturation
Now you've to use a gradient map, the colours are these:
#f09130 / #a64610 / #ed7040
this layer is set on softlight fill 100%
Now i've used a gradient fill layer, it's a bit complicate because I like complicated things, these are the four colours from left to right:
#dbcebe / #856749 / #442813 / #2d1508
now set this layer on softlight with the lighter part in the top left corner
Now, copy paste all merged layer (ctrl+shit+c you should know!)
and paste the layer on top, now go to the "layer" menù and select the "Smart Object" voice -> Convert to smart object.
You'll now have a litte icon on your preview layers. Don't worry, about it.
Now go the the edit menù and choose "Variations"
Click these:
Midtones:
||||X| - more blue +1 / more cyan +1
||X||| - ligher+1 / more cyan+1 /
more magenta +1
Okay if you notice, in your layer palette, there's a little tiny icon near "variations", you can click there and reduce the opacity of the variation layer, that means that you can choose how much you want to apply. It's quite useful!
Now i've picked this texture:
by
midnight_road and set it on screen at 100% fill
copymerge all layer, paste them on top, use the gaussian blur 4 and set the layer on softlight
Now, copymerge all the layer for the last time and contrast.
As usual I use the smart sharpen:
amount: 28
radius 0,3
remove gaussian blur
more accurate active
AND YOU'RE DONE!
Since I liked
endearest idea here's the progression.
