anti-update?

Fic in progress, tucked into a predicted 70 hour work week...

In the meantime, a request for tech support.  I don't read my friends page.  I don't really care.  I've got like one friend on it for friending's sake, myself, and then LJ release note communities.  It just totally annoys me that it seems to be broken.  I don't like things that are broken. >_<

So far as I've been able to determine, it will show at most only the past 11 entries.  I have the page set to display 10 at a time.  I can see the past ten, and then I click the 'next' button, and only one entry shows up there.  If I have it set to display 20 at a time, only 11 entries will show up there, and there will be no 'previous' button.  If I manually type in an address that says ?skip=20, it'll return an empty page.  And that's only recently.  A couple of weeks ago, it only showed the last 5 or so, and then as entries were added, it slowly built up to 11, where apparently it hit its cap.  I've been stuck on the last 11 entries, and only the last 11 entries, for several entries now.

I've looked at my 'customize journal' page, and there's no option for this kind of thing.  I'm using a standard component layout, and I'm pretty sure I didn't futz with the options that much.  In fact, I think it didn't used to do this, or surely I would have noticed earlier.  I don't read my friends page, but I at least click on it once every couple of months or something, just for kicks.  My entries page works just fine.  Maybe it's just gone crazy because it wants me to have more friends or something. =p

I don't care nearly enough to actually ask tech support or something.  Just thought I'd put the question out there if anyone has a convenient answer.  Anyone know what I can whack over the head to make this work the way it's supposed to?
