oh hello there, how are you?
2 nights ago, we heard a loud crash in the front room. Upon investigation, it turns out some drunk lout had crashed through or kicked in the front window creating a massive hole with shards of broken glass everywhere; on both the front room floor and the pavement outside.
Then the commotion started. Me, swearing into the night amongst the bickering of random witnesses. "Is everything alright in there?", "Can we do anything to help?", "Should we call the police?", "It was 2 boys, I swear! They ran away over there.", "They were wearing red jumpers!", "It was an alien!".
Next morning, we called the house agent. They said they will send someone over to take a look at it. An hour or two later, the front window was boarded up. Noone knocked on our door or gave any indication that they were present when this happened. We were obviously waiting anxiously inside the apartment.
We live in a shophouse-converted-corridor so we have 2 ceiling to floor windows on the front room. I've always been skeptical about this but the rent was cheap. So now, one of the two front window has been boarded up.
Anyway, we received a letter from the agent. They said they didn't mention this over the phone but we were responsible for the repairs (as is mentioned in the lease agreement clause 4.3) so they've acted on our behalf and called the glass company to replace the glass. Oh how nice. A great way to start the day, that's for sure. And hell no. I am not going to pay for this.
So later, I will be calling the glass people to put the replacement on hold and then off to the Citizens Advice Bureau for well, advice on the situation. Presently, I am quite delirious having not slept since receiving that mail.
In other news, we've 'installed' a tv room into the chat. Users can retire from the gaming screen and watch youtube videos with other users. It's apparently very popular with the 4chan crowd and some have stayed on and signed up as regular users.
And since we've made a tv room, we figured we might as well have our very own tv show that could be shown during intermissions. Had a quick skim through Blender and came up with this. It took us a couple of days and it's not too shabby. Obviously there is always room for improvement.

Yup, it's a 3D version of our webcomic,
Polly+Morfs. Or at least, the latest strip. It was a bit of fun so we'll prolly churn these out as the comics get put up. (click the link for the transcript if you feel inclined to)
So yea, just a few things going on at the moment amongst other things. Also, I've been blogging somewhere else about the exploits of manhandling a virtual community. If you're interested, it's
here. I'm also in the process of setting up an official portfolio site (fucking finally?). I thought the title, "Give me a fucking job, you bastards." seemed apt.
ps: have just noticed an
LJ Aqua link under the header LJ Labs in the infostrip at the bottom of this page (in edit & comment view). from the looks of it, lots of people (in the states i assume) have just returned home from a midnight show of, "The Dark Night". also, that url ended in russian. o.O
