Hey everybody, I know it's been awhile, but I've got a big favor to put out there into the world. I'm working on a documentary theatre piece for a class and I'm hoping some of you would be willing to help me out. The piece is about Identity, specifically what happens to a child (regardless of age) when a parent becomes sick or dies (or grandparent, or aunt, or anyone close). I know this is a really sensitive topic, but it's one touching my life and the lives of several of my friends right now. So, if you're willing, my assignment is this. Send me any information you can about your feelings, reactions, fears etc. Even if you're not being personally touched by this now I'd still like responses. And if this is too close to home and you don't want to do it that is ok too. I only want people to respond if they feel ok about it. Basically this is my big final assignment and I'm asking people to free wright for 15-20 minutes and then I'm going to be working on turning it into a play. A play that might actually get performed in NYC if I get this grant I'm working on! I'm planning on keeping everyone anonymous in the play, A)because it's so personal and B)because I think the purpose of the play is to explore the universal through the personal. So...if you are willing (please, please, please!) you can e-mail me with your responses at sarahturnquist@email.com. Preferably in the next week or two so I can put something together over thanksgiving to turn in at the end of the term. I promise I'll talk more about my NYC experiences soon (it's been weird, let me tell you) but this is more important in the now. So if you can, thanks! I would really appreciate it :)
help wanted!
