Park Jungsu, or Leeteuk to most, led a pretty normal and peaceful life. He went to school like any other normal kids, hung out with friends, and had nice, loving parents and older sister, and best friends whom he treasured a lot. He felt content with his life, and wouldn't ask for anything better than that.
Except for one thing.
"Kangin, no! Don't you dare!"
Kim Youngwoon; or Kangin. Also known as the bane of his existence.
"Yah, Kangin! Seriously!" He snapped at the taller, swiping at the hand that was trying to steal another kimbab from his lunch box.
Kangin, strong benevolence. Leeteuk scowled at the thought. Strong benevolence my ass. He was more like raccoon than a human being, constantly stealing his lunch everyday. Yeah, the name 'raccoon' suits him better, the thin boy concluded after.
The said raccoon easily plucked another kimbab from Leeteuk's lunch box, ignoring the other's protest, waving the food teasingly in front of his victim’s face.
Leeteuk glared at him, and with a fearsome war cry he threw the table plus its content at the other boy. And then Kangin was dead.
Okay so maybe that didn't exactly happen, but he wished he could really throw the table at him just to wipe that annoying sneer off his face. Instead Leeteuk angrily slammed his fist on the table, and instantly regretted it. Cradling his injured hand cautiously, he glared up at Kangin who was cackling with laughter at his fail attempt of intimidation.
"Kim Youngwoon, give me back my kimbab or I swear to God I will-"
"You will what?" Kangin said mockingly before he put the kimbab inside his mouth. And before Leeteuk could perform any kinds of homicidal attempt he scurried away from the enraged boy, laugh echoing along the hallway.
Leeteuk could almost feel steams coming out of his ears. “KANGIN I HOPE YOU CHOKE AND DIE!"
---
"Argh!"
Leeteuk screamed when he felt his scalp prickled, as Kangin yet again was pulling at the hair on the back of his head with a joyous laughter.
"Hi there pretty boy~ What do we have for lunch today?" the bulky boy asked in a taunting voice. Eunhyuk only shook his head at his friends, already got used to their childish fight.
Leeteuk tried his best to growl, but sounding more like squeaking, and swatted away Kangin's hand, which had begun creeping towards his tray. "Go away you raccoon! Do not touch my lunch!"
Kangin, already an expert at stealing Leeteuk's food, managed to grab a bun despite the smaller boy's defending, "Raccoon? Does that mean I'm cute?"
"No idiot, that means you are- hey give that back!!" Leeteuk made a grab for the other's backpack- which was slung over one shoulder only- and pulled it back, causing it to fell off the owner's shoulder onto the floor, some books and other stuffs spilled out as the zipper was initially open.
Eunhyuk, being the helpful friend that he was, laughing at the amusing scene playing in front of him, and ended up choking on a mouthful of rice.
"Aish! Sorry Kangin I didn't mean to…" Leeteuk trailed off in favor of helping Kangin putting his things back inside.
"This is why I don't condone violence." Kangin said playfully while munching on the stolen bread. Leeteuk glared but Kangin seemed unaffected, keeping on devouring the bread while trying to gather his stuffs with one hand. As Leeteuk was stacking away Kangin's books, he noticed something.
"Wow, Kangin. You got a chocolate from a girl?" He asked, inspecting the pink box which no doubt contained the mentioned substance. Kangin snatched the box from the other's hand and hurriedly put it inside his bag. "Not from a girl, I want to give it to someone."
That shocked Leeteuk genuinely. He wasn't someone who particularly cared about stuffs like Valentine's Day, or other romantic traditions, and he thought someone like Kangin wouldn't either.
The taller looked at him, cheeky grin slowly spreading on his face, "Jealous?"
Leeteuk snapped out of his daze, "What?! NO!! Why would I!!"Kangin laughed and skipped away, but not before he grabbed Leeteuk's canned drink from the tabletop. "Yah!!!" Leeteuk cursed after him.
"You know what," Eunhyuk said after he regained his soul back, and resumed, "I think Kangin likes you."
Leeteuk stopped vodooing Kangin inside his mind only to look incredulously at the other, "Kangin? Yeah, sure. You are very observant, Hyuk."
"No, really." He insisted, which gained a roll of eyes from Leeteuk. "Yeah right. That's why he won't stop bothering me, stealing my food so I would get even more malnourished, rudely shoving me around-"
"Slapping your butt," Eunhyuk added helpfully.
"He did that only to embarrass me!"
Eunhyuk laughed wholeheartedly and Leeteuk groaned at his friend. "But seriously," the younger started after he ceased his laughter, "I think you like him too. Why else you wouldn't stop talking about him all the time?"
Leeteuk whacked him across the head and left him alone with his food.

Manning a booth in Valentine's Day event, Leeteuk decided, was the stupidest thing he had ever done in his seventeen years of life.
How did he end up doing such a job anyway? Oh right, it had something to do with Donghae and Sungmin's puppy eyes while they were pleading him 'Please please pretty please? We're short on people! Help us?. Sungmin and Donghae's club were holding an event for Valentine's Day, and by time they were done and cleaned up the entire basketball field, it was almost eleven at night already. His mom is going to kill him for coming late.
"Hyung, are you sure you're okay walking home alone? It's almost midnight." Sungmin asked as he approached Leeteuk. There were only few people-the others had already gone home- and none of them seemed to be going the same way to Leeteuk's direction.
He stifled a yawn, "I'm okay Sungminnie, you guys just go home already. It's late."
Suddenly Kangin parted from the group of friends and approached them, "I'll walk him home." He said in his usual grin, which made Leeteuk looked at him suspiciously.
He still wondered, who managed to get Kangin to actually participate in this thing, but there were still many things he didn’t know about the other boy, he supposed. But still, that didn’t make Leeteuk’s life any easier, because Kangin had been assigned to the booth next to his, and he had been feeling murderous all day because Kangin just wouldn’t leave him alone.
"Great! Thanks hyung! I'll see you both tomorrow!" Sungmin jogged towards his friends and after exchanging a few goodbyes, they left. Kangin offered his hand to Leeteuk.
"Shall we?" he smiled cheekily. Leeteuk slapped his hand away and stuck his tongue out at him. "You're not my type!"
The taller laughed and started to jog towards Leeteuk. "Leeteukie, I’m going to protect you!”

After leaving the school gates, Leetuk noted that it was indeed late. The road was empty, most of the stores were already closed, only the flickering of the streetlights barely shining down the quiet pavement.
He waited for the cheeky boy to start poking fun at him like he usually did but unexpectedly, the situation suddenly got awkward. Leeteuk fidgeted nervously, darting his eyes from the road to his supposed enemy back and forth, but Kangin only looked straight ahead.
Why aren't you saying anything?
The silence was becoming too much to him and so, clearing his throat a bit theatrically, the smaller spoke. "Kangin…," When he was sure he got the other's attention, he continued, "-why do you want to walk me home?" He didn't mean to sound too suspicious or anything, but he didn't really know how to handle this Kangin, this silent Kangin. The boy normally wouldn't shut up even for one minute.
Leeteuk watched him scratching his head in an awkward manner, facial expression clearly stating he's reluctant but answered the question anyway. "It's late, you shouldn't be walking home alone. I…-" Kangin glanced down at him before looking away, "-I don't want anything bad happen to you."
Leeteuk almost cried out a 'WTF?!' or 'Did you hit your head?!' but instead he looked down and let out a single "Oh," because Kangin didn't seem like he was joking and Leeteuk REALLY didn't what to do with this side of Kangin.
A cold wind blew by and Leeteuk visibly shivered, folding his hands across his chest in hopes that could provide him with more heat. This time he couldn't hide his surprise, when Kangin suddenly removed his outer uniform jacket, and silently draped it over his shoulder. Between reddening face and pounding of his heart, Leeteuk managed a small, "Thank you…". The other kept his silence, but Leeteuk could feel Kangin's hand closing around his own, even though Kangin was looking at anything but him.
Please say something…
They finally reached the front of Leeteuk's house and he gestured, "We're here."
Kangin looked uncertain, like he was going to say something, but held himself back. There was a moment of another awkward situation, before Leeteuk opened his mouth, "Well, guess I should go in. Thanks for walking me home, Kangin." He handed Kangin back his jacket and quietly thanked him for it.
Before Leeteuk could turn around though, Kangin held him, "Wait, Leeteuk."
The brown haired boy raised his eyebrows quizzically at Kangin, who appeared to be searching something inside his backpack. And when he finally fished some pinkish looking box with the color of pink out of his bag, Leeteuk found it hard to breathe, because it couldn't be. Kangin couldn't be.
"I think Kangin likes you."
"I didn't get the chance to give it to you today at school, so…" Gently, the raccoon boy thrust the box- which Leeteuk realized, was the very same box of chocolate he saw inside Kangin's bag that afternoon- into his hands and words just escaped Leeteuk.
"I think you like him too. Why else you wouldn't stop talking about him all the time?"
Gazing into Kangin eyes, because what was the use of words, if those two sets of warm glimmering orbs spoke so much more, and Leeteuk watched as those moments flashed before him; the playful (but somewhat annoying) banter, kangin pulling his hair, and stealing his lunch, copying down his homework, playfully slapping his behind, everything. And suddenly he understood.
It was Kangin who broke their silent exchange, "I should go."
Leeteuk let him, watching the other's broad back until it gradually faded, replaced by darkness. He gripped the box just a little bit tighter, and couldn't help the slight bashful smile on his face.
Youngwoon…

Epilogue.
Leeteuk was woken up from his half-asleep state by a familiar burning sensation on his scalp.
"Ack! Youngwoon that hurts, you raccoon!"
"Morning Jungsu~ My princess~" Kangin was unperturbed by the other's misery, he began ruffling the dark brown locks affectionately. "Where's my morning kiss?"
"You won't get any with that kind of attitude." Leeteuk patted down his ruined hair, not amused by the other's playful nature so early in the morning.
Kangin playfully pouted, "Fine. Would you lend me your math homework instead?"
The answer was quick, "No."
"Jungsu~!" The chubby boy whined, "Pleaseee?"
"No, Youngwoon. You should at least try to do your own homework not copying- hey give that back! Kim Youngwoon, give me my bag this instant!"
From the other side of the classroom, Shindong sighed. "Are they really dating or what?"
Heechul smirked and just continued inspecting his nails, "Some things never change. They are one of them."
