Scolding..

ok, to understand the rest of my comments, you should probably read the journal entry written by zach, entitled "Scolding," first.

Those comrades in the car, were non other than ashley and myself. and what zach failed to mention, was that we had decided to dress up like idiots at the time.We were a bit feisty after commandeering a pirate kite and flying it out the window of the car as we passed the house of the kite's owner and honked. Zach was sporting a black, long-sleeve, dress shirt with a tie, and a visor decorated his head at a slightly askew angle. His bottom half consisted of his fat kid shorts (a pair of green umbro soccer shorts) and sandals. His shiny sun glasses topped it all off.

Ash was in a shirt, jeans, and aviators,(i think ?)while i had adamantly refused to part ways with my pajamas, and shunned the use of bra's.

so before the lady drove off, he hopped out of the car, smiled and picked up the aforementioned book that had landed near her car.

for our part, ash and i just laughed during the exchange.....which eventually turned into dumb shock that the woman hadn't left, and that zach was dealing with her in such a manner.

once we reached sonic we showered praises at his smart-ass nature and criticized the woman for her faulty arguments. non of us could see reason with her actions, let alone her view.

then i experienced "one of THOSE moments." the kind where you think of a brilliant thing to say to someone, AFTER the moment had already past. i sincerely wished that i had not gone silent and looked out the window away from the woman when she explained
that fornication "was something special between a woman and a man." what i should have done is launched myself across zach's lap and ruffled her feathers a bit more with a comment along the lines of " why just between a WOMAN and a MAN? you fucking bigot, my partner here (pointing to ash) and i resent that..." then i would have ended the exchange with audible mumblings about closed minded townies, to make sure the offense was permanent.hell, she had already thrown around enough stereotypes to justify her actions, why not give her another one?

screw her man. i HATE being scolded. if the kids were old enough to know what the finger means, i doubt that they would care. and if not, she just taught them what it means inadvertently. if they asked she could have explained it in a way that was fitting to her life style. you can't shelter your kids from life. in my experience, pointing out the "bad" things that "should be avoided" only increases kids' interest in the subject.

grrr. thanks for writing that zach. you did a splendid job of recounting the story. I'm sure ash will have comments as well.
