this time, doing the jugger trip, we decided to visit ireland first and then go to the tournament in berlin. this has been good for us to brush up on the finer points of the german rule system... as understood by the irish... who may or may not be right, depending.
ireland opened up it's sky to us, upon arriving, allowing everyone a chance to bask in the wet. first training day was spent running, in the rain, into the center of the field and kneeling for the starting points but people started to get up to speed. and by people, i mean the guys from brisbane and the guys from canberra who have ventured over, allowing us to field two(2) teams on the german fields. and also, i mean not me. i managed to bang my leg on an escalator, resulting in a bit of a limp and a little case of sniffles with swollen adenoids, for good measure. pub mission followed.
the next day was more training (now with added not-rain). it mainly involved the australians running in lines, as well as getting used to blocking, flicking and swiping. i felt a bit better so i tried my hand at the german chain(different length of chain link, so it feels different. just ask my thumb...) but then the irish turned up to confuse us some more with their understanding of the german rules.
that night we went as a group to so see black dynamite while not as slick and polished as previous black-sploitation parody movies, such as "i'm gonna git you, sucka" the attempts at recreating the style of a true seventies independent movie, (reusing the same stock footage when two different cars exploded, editing jumps and the life) made it a fun evening.
one more full day in ireland and then off to berlin.
the fiend
i wonder what might happen there?
