On a lighter note, Patrick Nielsen Hayden in his blog, remarking about the swiftly organized efforts by the Society for Creative Anachronism (link) to assemble relief and evac convoys to help Hurricane Katrina victims:

    Say what you will about the SCA, but they do know something about dealing with large events that take place in a sea of mud. (link)

(grin) We do, at that.

We also know something about not leaving our people behind.
