RP Post: Zane

Ash had prepped herself for this and made sure to leave certain things behind, like her necklace and the scarf, before going to Zane's. She was mentally kicking herself for putting it off so long, and for not calling ahead of time, but this was it.

She knocked on the door to Zane's apartment and waited.

Zane had been meditating. So it took him a few moments to answer the door. Which he did about ten minutes after Ash knocked, looking a bit dazed when he did.

"Ash?"

"Um, hi?" Ashu could feel herself blushing, and really wanted to smack herself for it. "Um, sorry. I should've called ahead."

[not_in_zane]

"It's okay... I was just..." he shook his head.

"C'mon in," he said, before turning and motioning for her to follow.

Ashu did follow, fidgeting a little.

"Just what? Um, if it's not anything private of course."

[not_in_zane]

"I was meditating. That's all," Zane said, shaking his head. "I have to sometimes. To keep everyone else out of my head."

[turnabout_girl]

"Ah," Ashu said, smiling a little. "It's a good thing then. Um, yeah... I'm back too."

[not_in_zane]

"Are you? How long were you gone. On your end I mean?" Zane asked. He could tell that she was different, after all. He wasn't sure how different yet.

[turnabout_girl]

"About three years, give or take," Ashu replied, suddenly finding the edge of her shirt interesting to pick at. "Was only a week or so for you guys it seems."

[not_in_zane]

"Yeah. Time gets funny when you're world hopping. Which is why I'm not quite sure how old I am anymore," Zane said, shaking his head. "It's a mess is what it is. You hungry?"

[turnabout_girl]

"Well hopefully you're not to old," Ashu teased, giggling slightly. "Depends on what's being offered to eat, Zane."

[not_in_zane]

"I have leftover carryout. Among other things," Zane said. "I have cookies and milk too."

[turnabout_girl]

"Leftovers are good, and are they cookies by that friend of yours?" Ashu asked, leaning close. "Because if they are you might not be able to get rid of me."

[not_in_zane]

"Nah, I made these cookies," Zane said, heading towards the kitchen.

[turnabout_girl]

"Nerts," Ashu followed Zane but stayed out of the kitchen. "Bet they're good though. So other than meditating what have you been up to?"

[not_in_zane]

"Not that much. It hasn't been that long, Ash," Zane said, shrugging. "I'm sure you had a far more interesting time."

[turnabout_girl]

Ashu brought a hand up to brush away some hair from her face, pausing just a little at the spot with the scar. "Not really, Zane. I'm glad to be home and able to see you."

And then she realized what she just said and started to blush.
