Like asking Anko and Gai to the Masquerade, Kakashi's pretty lame at asking people out, even on very-much-not-a-date outings.]I seem to recall something about an ( Read more... )

[Notes this]

Ah, good, good.

...For now, hm? I can see if I can get a doctor's note if you'd prefer.
Just a little outing, that's all.

[A small amused huff at that]

No, it's fine, sensei. I have several witness accounts including my own, unfortunately.
...Ah, alright then. When would you prefer to go?

Oh, alright. ...I don't think Tsunade-sama's in the mood to give me a note anyway.

Whenever's good for you. You're the one with things to do.

Likely, due to the circumstances.

Ah well, I have considerably less work than usual as I've been restricted from anything that qualifies as 'strain', so I imagine I can finish what I need to early enough in the day. I'd rather not go out in the heat of the afternoon, so perhaps in the early evening?

She wouldn't regardless.

I see. Maybe I should wait, then? Or are you up to it? I wouldn't want to strain you. Though evening is kind of a nice hour for a date.

[He half-chokes on something, and it's a few moments until he's settled again]

It's fine, sensei. I could use time out of the house- haven't moved much in the past week or so- unless you're still hindered by something? The term 'date' is hardly appropriate, however.

Problem, Neji?

No, I'm not hindered, unless you count the chibi-Uchiha who might be clinging the whole way. [There's something of a chuckle.]
Why not? It's a social outing, isn't it?

No, no, don't worry.

...Ah, I see. Well hopefully that won't be too much of an issue. I guess going by that definition..

Oh, alright.

We're going by that definition, yes. You're not quite my type, remember, Neji?

I didn't... It was just termed such over a public network, sensei. No one needs to get the wrong impression because of your carelessness.

I'm sure you'd set everyone straight on it anyway. Heaven forbid you fall under the umbrella of my "questionable" tastes, hm?

Why would I be bitter?

It's not as though I would know, hm?
