That is rather sudden, Sensei, though not entirely unexpected. The information will surely have it's use to those it's available to.

Oh, would you have rather a lot of build-up and foreplay? I thought I'd go straight to the main attraction.

Hopefully so. What good is information if it is not somehow used?

....Unnecessary, sensei, though I appreciate the consideration.

It seems allegiances are forming quickly already.

See? I can be considerate.

Is that a complaint or an observation?

Hm. When it matters, I suppose.

More of an observation. I've hardly a reason to complain about them otherwise and it's very nearly a compliment.

So little faith.

...You mean that Sensei's hope for a community is apparently working? Allegiances are forming on both sides of the line, it would seem, Neji. Maybe even in places we haven't looked yet. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. Allegiance and alliance can be both helpful and dangerous things.

Of course they are. 'Interesting' is an apt description, though I'd rather not see the outbreak of civil war. Remaining completely neutral doesn't seem like much of an option- especially not if it's the Akatsuki.

Have you spoken with Tsunade-sama lately, sensei?

Nor would I, but lines are always drawn when opinions differ, and we each brought in our own world's troubles with us--either socially, politically, or emotionally. We just happened to bring the people responsible for those troubles with us, and we in turn have a responsibility to do something to protect this place from that.

Not really, no, why?

I have to wonder how long this increasingly fragile peacetime will last, then. How long would a war last in a place like this, even? Until individuals have felt the pain of death enough times so as to come back, eventually completely crippled and helpless? The first 'side' to become completely wretched and defenseless loses, is it? There's no peace or finality in death here. There almost isn't a point aside from cruelty.

No particular reason, sensei. She seems as though she'd be more likely to talk to and trust you before me. Perhaps I will attempt to contact her soon.

I don't know, and I don't intend to speculate. There is no point to war, Neji, in any world or context. An eye for an eye and eventually everyone's blind. But you turn the other cheek and all it saves you from is seeing the fatal blow coming at you.

[A pause. He sighs heavily.]

I know enough of war to know I don't want one. But I also know enough of war to know some cannot be staved off, and that there are things and people worth protecting and dying for, should it come to that.

You sure? I'm not positive Tsunade wants much to do with any of Konoha. But you do that, if you have something to say to her.

We'll have to hope it doesn't come to that, but I'm just not sure what to think if it does. For now, I suppose we'll keep an eye on every 'side' as much as possible and hope to intervene before things get too far.

I don't know, but even like that, she's still our Hokage as we know her. Surely she's had some time to see this world for herself and be able to listen long enough.

Even though we're a side of our own? Intervening might mean starting sometime or involving even more people. Anytime a new side enters a conflict, it has potential to expand, each side bringing its allies in for support...

Even if she rejects the title of Hokage, yes, I suppose so.

((ooc: She has, though much of her listening will depend on when and how Neji approaches the topic.))

Kakashi-sensei, what else can we do?

[[ooc: Hee~! That conversation will be fun, then. :3]]

Exactly. Which is why war is what it is... A series of conflicts that grow because of alliances and grudges dragging groups into a fray they are not really a part of, but join anyway...mostly out of loyalty, politics, and friendship.

The thing that worries me most, Neji, is not us intervening. But rather, us being part of the catalyst that starts the war. Ourselves and the Akatsuki.

((ooc: Hopefully! <3 What's he going to chat with her about?))
