Hm.

There's a part of me that really doesn't know where to stand on this.

Well, let me backtrack a bit. Today started out great. Mel's bike was delivered over to Kia's place and we spent the afternoon teaching her the basics of riding. She picked them up to. I think soon enough she'll be ready to drive her bike to school everyday ( Read more... )

Jesus H. Christ, I can't believe her family. Are they really kicking her out because she refused to lie about her sister? That is wrong on so many levels.

She's telling me she can't go home. I know she's spending the night at your place. She's also worried though, that she'll be taking advantage of you if she stays any longer.

Uhm, I think she'd rather stay with you, but if you're not ready to have a roommate, she can stay with us. I'm not going to turn the girl away, now that she finally found her backbone.

Either way, I've been telling her she's not going to end up in the streets.

She deserves a medal for what she did, to be honest.

YOU deserve a medal for being honest. Those idiots needed to hear the truth about Scarlet, even if they don't want to believe it. I'm proud of you, Dad. You did the right thing.

I don't want her to feel like she's bothering me by staying with me. The truth is that I'd love to have her stay with me.

I'm proud of you, Dad. You did the right thing.

Thanks Daughter. I'm trying.

I think she's finally realizing that. Poor kid still has the self-confidence of a bag of noodles.

I'm proud of you for other reasons, but I won't embarass both of us by going into them here. Just know that--it's been a long road, but I love you.

How could you possibly let me down? I've already been enough of a let down for ya.

No, Dad. You weren't the cause of my let down. I think a lot of that blame lies on my mother. But, let's not rehash that. Let's just go on from here. You're a good dad and an excellent grandfather.

You know, that's one thing in the future I do look forward to. Getting to know you better and being able to spend time as a family. I wish I could have known you when I was younger, but we can't go back on that. But my kids will know you, and that's just as good.
