(no subject)
Hey everyone, im here!!!! in germany!!
i love it love it so far, although the first 2 days wouldnt tell you so. im not gunna write about today right now cuz im still kinda tipsy from cheap cocktail hour at the bar (its my first night drinking and drinking is DEFINITELY part of the culture...did you know that das boot REALLY exists?!?). however, the past two days i took time to write journal entries and here they are. today's entry will come tomorrow when i wake up i think :) but for now ill let you know the people that are here from bu are amazing!!! i love EVERYONE and they're all soooo nice. i find myself talking to a different person everyday and getting along with them just fine! its amazing how well we get along and how much we've bonded. :) im so happy to have friends and people here :)

Hello
today is my first day in germany and it's seriously the longest fucking day ive ever experienced in my life!!! the plane ride took forever and of course i didnt sleep at ALL. i did watch arthur and the minimimos (or something like that..it was really really weird) and blades of glory (which was funny), however. i also managed to meet some really cool people. exhaustion eventually kicked in when we had our lay over in frakfurt around 6am - 9am here (12 midnight -3am at home) but there was no resting for us. we had a quick one hour flight to dresden (which is pretty btw) and then had to haul our luggage around to our rooms and stuff. i do have a single..(we all do) and its way far away from people. its kinda sad cuz i feel kinda lonely....like how im feeling now. a couple of us are gunna try to talk to the director tomorrow and see if we can be moved closer to eachother. i also found out that the showers and bathrooms are co-ed. i share 2 showers with at least one guy at the moment (students generally arent moved in cuz the semester starts in october) and its really...weird :( i also have no toilet paper. anyway, my room is pretty big and stuff but it just feels so ....empty and sad and bare. its kind of depressing actually. anyway, we did a lot of walking around and shopping today and im quite exhausted. i cant believe that its still my first day because, well, it feels like its been at least 3 or 4 days so far! all the kids went to the bar that exists in the basement of our dorm tonight to celebrate. i was supposed to meet up with them around 9 but stupid me laid down to listen to music and woke up around 10:30 instead. well i missed all the fun and felt sick from that stupid little nap so i just went back up to my room which is where i am now. they said the internet would be ready tonight....but it's not. and i dont think ive ever felt this lonely. i wish i had woken up on time....becuase then i would prolly be comfortably passed out in bed. but now im just worrying and trying to read to keep my mind off things. then again, its only my first day. but you'd be surprised how much this place has disapointed me....especially the RAs. they're so stupid and unhelpful :(
now dont get me wrong, i had some pretty good times today, but my tiredness just kind of ruined it all. hopefully tomorrow will be a little better.

today was pretty good :)
im bummed i missed the big party last night. apparently they passed around das boot like 6 or 7 times (the number of times depends on who you ask) which is a huugggeee mug of beer everyone drinks and then the person next to the last person to finish it has to give the last person 12 euros. haha i could see how that would be amusing. some people had hangovers but much less than we thought haha. too bad i missed it but im SURE there'll be more. like tomorrow for instance, we're going for coctails at a bar and then thursday the RAs are taking us on a bar hopping tour hahahha. that's gunna be funny.
but yeah today was much better than yesterday. we got up and went to open a german bank account and such and i had my first shower here. no guys came in or anything and my kitchen has a cactus in it! then we ate a very satisfying lunch and registered with the housing place. then we went shopping some more and then ulli took me, allie and erin (not erin my already friend but my new friend erin) to a place where they play volleyball every tues and thurs!!! we played for a good hour and a half then came home. they're all german and funny and mostly guys. it was nice and i didnt do too bad...but i couldnt really commuicate that well. i did learn a few things like (im gunna butcher the spellings but ill try...) "ous" means "out" and "toot-meer-lide" means "sorry" and "ish" means I but its like calling "mine" and "ist goot" means "its good" and "tull" means "nice". but yeah my german still sucks haha. after volleyball i went shopping at the grocery store and got drinks and cereal for under 4 euros. i also picked up my very first legal 99 cent bottle of beer...just for the hell of it haha. i plan on sharing it with erin later. after that i went to the fruit stand outside and got an apple and peach and the lady gave me the peach for free and then gave me 2 other kinds of fruit to try as a gift!!! she was the nicest lady ever!!!!! i was like awww thank you sooo much! feelen dank! (that means thank you very much) i plan to visit her later this week and have a little bit of a better german conversation with her haha.
anyway we're getting the internet tonight and im excited!! (so is everyone else though haha...everyone wants to go on facebook and update their status and stalk people) i havent told anyone that i actually made it here either soo after the nice awesome RA comes around with the internet stuff im gunna go use my phone card and call my mom and dad if i can...
OMG my neighbor's listening to music! maybe ill go say "hi" or "gutentak!" or maybe its from downstairs...but maybe not. brb. aw it is from downstairs :( BUT i think the guy is actually playing the music on guitar and he sounds REALLY good. comparable to matt costello even!! wowsers!
im surprised but i havent really taken any pictures yet. tomorrow i will i think but ive just been too busy and too tired to do that yet. lol oh well ;)
alright well ima go clean up some stuff and read and get my computer ready for internet usage. wooooo hooo!
