Super Mario Bros.

The Script

Curtains closed.  Toad introduces the story of Super Mario Bros.

Toad exits stage right.

Curtains open, revealing the Goombas and the Koopa Troopers on stage, walking. Orchestra begins to play intro to “Super Mario Bros. Theme,” then segue into

“Bowser Castle Music.”

Princess Toadstool enters stage left, walking towards stage right, looking behind her.

Bowser enters stage left, and abducts Princess Toadstool. [Keep it clean, guys.]

Princess and Bowser exit stage left. Music stops.

Orchestra plays “Super Mario Bros. Theme.”

Super Mario, Luigi enter stage right. [Wave to audience, be fun.]

Walk around, kick around Goombas and Koopa Troopers [be careful!]

As soon as a Goomba or Koopa Trooper is hit, they will exit the closest stage direction.

When the stage is cleared of evil characters, Super Mario and Luigi exit stage right.

Wait until “Super Mario Bros.” To end, if necessary. Orchestra plays “Water Music.”

Super Mario and Luigi enter stage right. Squid enter stage left.

[Make sure you look like you’re swimming!]

Super Mario and Luigi hit the Squid, they exit stage once attacked.

Super Mario and Luigi continue to swim funny, and then exit stage right when finished.

(Music repeated if necessary.)

Lights dim. Orchestra begins to play “Underground Music.”

Super Mario and Luigi enter stage right, proceed to center stage, where they will wait.

Gong crash. Lights turn red. “Bowser Castle Music” is played, Bowser enters stage left.

Bowser, Super Mario, and Luigi begin to rumble. Bowser starts with upper hand.

Music stops after a couple of moments of fighting.

Star enters stage right. Super Mario touches Star, Orchestra plays “Star Music.”

Super Mario gets Star-ified, and beats up Bowser off stage left, with Luigi following.

Music stops. Lights back to normal. Orchestra begins to play “Super Mario Bros. Theme”

Super Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, Toad enter stage left. Walk to center stage.

Princess Toadstool gives Super Mario a kiss [not too long].

Curtains close, orchestra finishes music.
