SOME HAPPY MAKING NEWS

This weekend has been incredible. I'm so shocked at how much fun I had. Note that I didn't hang out with ANYONE from MY SCHOOL but about 20 different Taksim street punks that I now adore (some of them).
Before Franca left for college she and I went to Taksim one night and met Ali and Nico. Two Turkish street punks. Ali was rolling and Nico doesn't do drugs. A lot of pictures were taken and so forth. Anyway...
I am on Istiklal a lot, the street in Taksim...and these street punks don't LIVE there but they are there basically all the time. Therefore...I see them quite a lot.
Friday afternoon after dinner with my father who went to Indonesia this time...I went to Taksim to find Taner (a German street bum that Franca was friends with) and give him a note Franca had written for me to give him. I didn't find him but I ran into Nico. Nico was the better of the two. He's genuine and intellegent...he loves death metal, has long black hair, wears eye liner, is totally cute and pretty much is just amazing. We talked for a little bit and I met some more of their friends. We made plans for him to meet me there on Sunday morning and to come to church with me. I also that night met this older street bum that speaks very good English and always asks me for money to buy him a beer, or a hat, or pants. =P He's hilarious and actually great to talk to. He translates for the punks and myself...though sometimes to get his way or whatever he'll miss translate something...which causes some problems. I left finally and was walking back to the bus and met two American exchange students that will be living in Turkey for a year. Holly is a senior and Lily is a junior.
Saturday I painted and then went to Taksim (AGAIN)...this is where some more of the fun started. I came back to their sitting spot, Nico wasn't there this time but Ali was. Ali introduced me to his girlfriend, who called me her best friend today. I love her so much, he's adorable...and also 21 (but looks 17)& met MANY more of their friends. One of the first questions they always ask when they meet you is 'do you have a boyfriend?' and when you say no, they say 'why not?!' & then they suggest to you one of their friends. To me they suggested Meric. (pronounced like Marriage because the Turkish c is a j) They made us decide to go out and now my Turkish boyfriend of 20 is a street punk. Our relationship is currently based soley on looks, facial expressions, cuddling and so forth and translations. He's really really attractive. We all went down away from the sitting area and they pull out the weed and we smoke. Then we go and sit and listen to their friends playing guitar and singing known Turkish rock songs for money on the street. Lots of cuddling with Meric and so forth. I have to leave and Ali's girlfriend translates to me that Meric wants to meet me again and I say I will be here at 9:30 (which is when I also have to meet Nico) and he says he will be here. I finally go home, Mustafa walks me and that's the last I've seen of him so far. He wasn't here today. He's a great kid.
Sunday, today I go to Taksim for church. Neither Nico or Meric are there. I come out of church, eat with my brother and get my phone fixed. I told the American girls that I would call them on Sunday so I did that and told my brother I was meeting them (even though they were going to the Asian side and I knew I wasn't going to see them today) so he left and I stayed in Taksim. I sat with the older street bum who I've been talking to all weekend and we chatted it up a bit. People started coming over, Ali and my darling and her sister Elif, Emre...one of the funniest kids ever & a bunch of other kids. Nico and Meric didn't show up yet. We hang out and bum cigarettes off eachother. Meric comes. We are cute. Nico comes and I practically jump on him because he's a fantastic person. Both of them had been sleeping that morning and didn't come to church, Nico assured me that he'd come to church with me next week... We sit and chat and are cute. I think someone stole a bunch of food but maybe they bought it...I'm not sure...so we go and eat (this is where I accidentally ate some meat) and so forth. We come back. We sit chat and laugh some more then we go smoke again & come back and sit and chat some more and so forth. I was sitting with Nico because by that time I had found out that I shouldn't trust Turkish boys and that all they want if they find out a girl is American is the money because they're probably rich. This scared me off a bit from Meric so I sat with Nico instead...even though Meric had said that he still liked me even though I didn't have a credit card...mind you it was translated through the old bum hahha...I need to know his name hahah. Abi I'll call him or arkadash. Anyway...Meric got really jelous and so forth and we started at eachother and blew kisses at eachother but I never sat with him. Nico, Abi and I got up to go get some Turkish coffee so that Nico could read the future in it. Meric got really sad and was like where are you going are you comimg back & I said yes I'll be back...and we went. Apparentally I'm going to still have troubles, he gave me details, but in the end i'm going to be happily married with two kids. It took a very long time to read the whole thing but it was interesting. We went back to the sitting area and Meric was gone. It's alright. I wasn't nearly as affectionate with him as last night but it was okay and Nico's friendship is much better anyhow...since we can actually communicate and Meric and I cannot. I'm going to teach Nico English and they're all helping me with my Turkish. It's getting a lot better already! I could understand a lot of what they'd say and Abi would try to translate. I'm so happy. Nico, friend of his...name started with an S, don't remember & Emre walked me to the bus and I came home.

SUMMARY:

because of the events that took place during this weekend, I now have:
two new American friends that aren't in my school & their contact info.
a 20 year old Turkish street punk boyfriend who's really attractive but doesn't speak any English.
& three (that I consider) amazing new friends, Nico, Ali's girlfriend and Abi.

And all the other punks just like having me around to joke with and so forth. I have been explained to that they all talk bullshit, lie, steal and cheat and they are only interested in me for money and because half of them were high.

AMAZING WEEKEND!

Oh and I'm going back tomorow to see them all again. XD
