I liked both Vogue and Harper's spring previews; as usual, the latter was more applicable to people our age, but the former had more interesting reading material. I think Vanity Fair's 2006 Best Dressed List (December)was the best overall though.
Speaking of Bazaar, January's issue had an article about the horrifying conditions at counterfeit factories in China (preview here:
http://www.harpersbazaar.com/etoc/articles/2007/010107_4.html)- as if the poor quality and the fact that everyone can tell aren't good enough reasons not to buy fakes.
The Paris Hiltons of the world will be disappointed; low necklines and tight tops are not coming back anytime soon, not even for the warmer weather. And those of us who are unemployed (or sticking to a budget for other reasons) will be happily reusing our floaty tops and dresses, big slouchy bags, and dark nail polish all spring.
..Entertainment..
Lea Salonga is returning to Broadway in Les Mis! Only, its been quite a few years since she last sang in it, so she's playing Fantine instead of Eponine.
Scarlett Johansson is starring in the movie version of The Nanny Diaries. and Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are starring in the movie version The Other Boleyn Girl. (Speaking of movies set in the Tudor Period, I saw The Virgin Queen on PBS last night and it was really good. The DVD is out already; I recommend it!)
And speaking of books made into movies, I finally saw The Devil Wears Prada on DVD; for once a movie I liked better than the book. And it's amazing how Patricia Field put together Anne Hathaway's wardrobe months before the movie actually came out. (It was fun watching Emily Blunt's character, too; in Emily-actor's words, Emily-character is "so on the edge of fashion she's falling off.")
..Food..
Starbucks in Asia had a Toffee Nut Latte and I hope it's on the secret menu here, because it was really yummy! Must investigate!
