What the hell is up with people these days?

A lot of the people I meet have no concern for the law, little concern for those around them, and absolutely no concern for the effect their actions have. It's kind of scary when you can get into a heated debate with someone about how drugs effect society negatively, and their position is that drugs never harmed anyone. Never mind all the familys broken up by them and all the wasted hunks of human flesh on this earth that are too burnt out on crack to make something of their lives.
The other day I was reading an editorial, and the editorialist said something about how one of the Presidents in the early part of the 20th century had a paper weight on his desk that said, "The Buck Stops Here." I say that we all need to go back to those days when people took responsibility for their actions and admitted it when they made a mistake. All this passing of the buck in the government and in regular life is disgusting. No one takes any responsibility for themselves anymore. "The drugs made me do it," the "Twinky defense," "it's not my fault...the Intel was wrong," all that needs to go. We all just need to stand up and take credit for our actions, good or bad.
