fish live

I recently came across the word "pescavegan" and although I was pretty sure I knew what was meant by it, I was also pretty sure 'twas an oxymoron. I didn't find it in internet searches, but Wikipedia has an entry on the apparently equivalent pesceterianism.

I was moderately interested, because what I eat when it's up to me is basically vegan + occasional fish. When I was entirely vegan, I found to my surprise that I did not miss cheese, not one little bit; but I deeply craved fish, and raw at that. Figured I, "I used to go fishing. I can kill fish." So's I went ice-fishing and the fish I caught was so valiant and alive that I've had to give up all distinctions between eating fish and, say, piglets. It's just what makes the most sense to me these days, along with eating whatever is set before me when accepting hospitality (with the exception of a big slab of meat). Having given up the religious fundamentalism of my youth, I feel quite good about not being pure--about anything.

My favourite part of the "pesceterianism" entry is the related terms:
"pescatarian", "pescotarian", "piscatarian", "pectarian", "pescavore", "piscivore", "aquatarian," "fishetarian", and get this, "vegequarian".
