Instead of paying a monthly premium to a healthcare company, you and your employer pay it in a tax because there are no healthcare companies and medical records are electronic, accessible from the smallest clinic to teh largest hospital and doctors are gauranteed a set income, usually several hundred grand in most urban areas and somewhat less in smaller towns based on population density.
But no one ever worries about coverage and that operation you may have to wait on if its not life threatening.....its covered and scripts are very cheap so your parents and grandparents do not hae to give up food, heat or their dog to afford them. I can give anyone interested plenty of exampes of this. Heck, you can find them among your own older relatives!
And governments are not allowed to put healthcare money in a general slush fund like Congress does here. Its a seperate fund that is audited regularly. Waste and fraud are actiively prosecuted and prison sentences are considered a national responsibility for many Europeans. When was the last time any of use heard that happening to an HMO or PPO exec here? And Humana had 50% profits declared last year. And those were what could not be hidden by clever accounting.....
Thats the truth you will never see on American TV. Seen universal healthcare in action in Europe myself. Know a lot of Europeans who grew up on it. Sure, there are problems, but they pay far less for their universal coverage than we pay for our partia coverage and they cosnsistantly live longer and are in far better health than Americans are. According to the AMA and the WHO.
Death rates and life expectancies are very non-partisan measurements of healthcare system. Outside the United States.
But those are facts and politics are by definition "a state of belief completely independent of facts were opinions are "facts"....
