Well, we're a week into December, and I can honestly say that this is the best winter I've had for S.A.D. in 10 years. I've had a bit of internal chatter over the past month or so, it tends to make me very self-analytical, but I feel very positive and upbeat, (my performance at work has actually improved over the past few weeks since I've stopped having to spend 1/3 of every bastard week doing a fairly pointless spreadsheet, and I had the top score of all the engineers in the recent post training exam with 100%, yay me), my energy levels are excellent, and I've just spent the weekend proper sorting out the flat when I've not been taking calls from work. I now have my pimpy rope lighting installed in the bedroom again, got rid of some of the clutter, put up some shelving, and my room feels like somewhere I can actually chill out in again.

I attribute the change to riding into work, the daily exercise is what's making the difference. Does wonders for you cold tolerance as well, I've starting to loose my Shetland resistance to the cold quite badly the last couple of years, but when you're working up a sweat you don't really feel it other than in your fingers, so I've just stayed acclimatised to it, and I'm still wearing shorts and a t-shirt for the 4 mile ride even in December. Only put heating on in one room of the flat last week too, and anybody who's been in my flat in winter knows I've usually got the heating blasting all through the height of the winter.

Was planning to go to see the Wildhearts with Elise tonight, but it turned out to be impractical with calls coming in. Gutted. Still, seen 'em before and I'll see 'em again. I did pop along to Plutonic a Sofa in Fallowfield after finishing work on Saturday, to see James (Duppy) DJ. He did a bit more of a breakcorey set than last time, was still awesome. Had a wee dance, was good to get out and break up the weekend a bit. We've officially stopped all cover past 10pm now, so I can sneak out for a wee while at weekends after I finish being on call, so doing standby is not really that much of an inconvenience at all, it's a much needed opportunity to have a quiet weekend once in a while.

One or two things planned for the week. Going to go back to Drumroots on Tuesday for some more Djembe playing, and hopefully stop by and chill with Shane for a wee while afterwards. Thursday going to drive across to Sheffield to see Frank Turner and the Levellers seeing as I've been working al weekend, a wee birthday present for Blu, and Welsh John is coming too.Might try and cram in a trip to the gym too if Taz is up for it.
