Thanks for expanding. I'll try my best to explain the format, and hopefully after you'll feel a little more comfortable in regards to the voting.

Do you mean any icon in the group at all, or the ones I would/did vote for?
Like any other challenge, the icons that you choose for voting, constructive criticism and additional comments can be from anywhere in voting. You can choose to give constructive criticism to icons that you do pick in your top preferences if you wish to (we've had people do this before) or alternatively, you can pick from the icons you have no already listed.

It is noted in the voting rules that we give the option of allowing members to provide additional votes of their own choice, but also noted that this is not a mandatory requirement of voting. Once again - you can choose how you do this - whether you discuss icons you've already mentioned, or pick entirely new icons to mention, or simply not do it at all.

In each sign-up post, we do explain the special category voting - sometimes it's themed based on our rounds, other times we stick to best interpretation of theme and most creative. Though this is a flaw in our voting format and hopefully next round we can change that.

"what does "relating to the icon that best represented the themes challenge" mean?
Hopefully it means simply that - that participates vote for icons that they believed interpreted each challenges theme that we provided them with here. Perhaps if we'd linked back to the themes post, or noted somewhere in the voting what each theme was it may have made more sense, but that's something we overlook as most of our voters have been participants in the round and are therefore familiar with the themes.

You definitely didn't sound rude, and both my co-mod and I appreciate you taking the time to expand on your reasoning as we're always looking for ways to improve the community. Hopefully this comment has helped you understand things a little more? Please feel free to ask any other questions you have as well. Things here do tend to get wordy, so we're always willing to try and explain things :)
