sheekap The colours here are so rich and intense, which is quite fabulous, and the text work contrasts beautifully against that.

ICON VOTES

++ I love the monochrome nature of this icon. The sharpening is a little harsh (on her skin and the strands of her hair) and the icon is a little dark. I think it would benefit from a bit more light and contrast. That being said, I aodre the crop, I adore the way the text is a litte cut off and I really adore the overall simplicity of this icon.
+ I love the use of negative space here, paired with an impressive crop.

CONSTRUCTIVE VOTES
+ I like the green coloring of the negative space, but I think it could have been toned down a tad over her face. Also, parts of her hair look oversharpened.
+ I adore the monochromatic coloring here (although, judging from the intense scene, maybe it would've worked better to have red/orange hues? but maybe that's just me). The only thing I'm having trouble with is the text itself, it sort of looks stiff, it isn't blending as well as it could have with the rest of the icon.
+ I love this icon and I think it's beautifully done, but I'd like to see more of the first word. Just one letter isn't quite enough
ADDITIONAL VOTES
+ Awesome use of monochromatic coloring, crop and text placement are just superb. It's a tiny bit too sharp on my monitor though, but otherwise really amazing.

++ I love the crop and coloring of this icon.
++ Striking crop and contrast, really unusual text placement that works great, and the lighting in the icon is perfect.
++ Beautiful crop and coloring. I think the text is a little overpowering but overall a very pretty icon.
+++ The coloring here is so gorgeous! The yellow/purple light, her red red lips...SO pretty!
+ I like the centered crop and the contrast between the purple shades on the right and the yellow tones on the left. The sharpening is flawless.

+ I adore the crop and colouring of this icon. The pallour of Arwen's skin, her blue eyes and red lips are all really well emphasised by the light texture on the bottom left and the shadow play on the right side of the icon. The choice and placement of font is stunning but the bit that overlaps the light texture on her neck is difficult to read. Perhaps a drop shadow on low opacity and low distance and spread settings might help?

+++ The overall composition is so cohesive - there are a lot of elements, which could've taken the focus away from the main subjects, but everything looks coherent. I really like the washed-out tones the texture adds to the image, and I also think the frame is a sweet, nice touch. Beautiful work.

+ Interesting composition. Placing the text in the middle of the icon and adding the frame texture shouldn't have worked with this crop, but it does. It makes the icon look like a scene from a silent movie.
CONSTRUCTIVE VOTES
+ The texture use really bring down the quality of the icon as well as washing it out.
+ I like the crop but this type of crop is difficult to place text on it without obscuring vital parts of the face. I think if you rotated your canvas vertically it would provide more options for text placement.
ADDITIONAL VOTES
+ This is an interesting icon and I love the text placement and crop, but it would look even better with a bit more contrast.
+ I love the frame and the text here. In fact I have nothing at all about the text to critique. It's a great choice and placement of font and perfect size for the icon too. I do think that the subjects look washed out and that more contrast, or deepening the shadows would have made the icon pop a little more and also made the text look even better. It's possible though that the faded look was intentional in which case maybe a drop shadow on very low opacity under the text for a little added oomph?

+ Great use of text to play on the negative space.
+++ The text here is incredibly fitting and works so well with the screencaps. The boldness of the black and white colouring matches perfectly with the large, eqally bold text and the crop is all kinds of gorgeous! Really great work!
+ I think the strong, bold block of text is very appropriate for the image chosen (altough I'm not familiar with this fandom). The b&w contrast is really good as well, the mix of light/shadows is nicely done.

+ Great coloring and blending.
+++ All the elements in this icon work so well together. The text (fonts, placement) supports the levels look awesomely and the monochromatic green fits the scenario. Also love the subtle yet interesting texturizing!
+ A little dark for my tastes but the blending and text are very nicely done.
++ Excellent focus on the text (which was the actual challenge this round); the mix between such different fonts is ver spot on and creative. I only would've liked to see both text lines closer to each other, so that the overall composition seemed a little better integrated. It's beautifully made just like that, though.
++ The coloring here is so gorgeous! The yellow/purple light, her red red lips...SO pretty!
+++ I love the dark green coloring, the composition and the texture use. The text placement is perfect, and the font choice is very interesting as well.
BEST INTERPRETATION OF THEME
+ The choice of phrase here is really clever because it immediately brings to mind those scenes in the dungeons. Snape's face is a little oversharpened and I do think the icon needs a bit more contrast and maybe a bit more light as well but that's mostly ignorable in favour of the superb blending and excellent choice and placement of the font.

+++ The text on this icon is beautiful, as are the coloring, lighting, and negative space.
+ So soft and pretty, the text placement is awesome, and the light use is heavenly.
+++ Great use of negative space. The coloring and texture use is really nicely done and she really blends well.
+++ The warm tones are lovely and I liked how you used mixed fonts that stood out on its own without distracting from the other.
+ I love the choice of text here, and also the placement. The 'no way' is a little light on my monitor and would probably stand out a bit more if the layer were duplicated or boldened but the text works so well with the girl's expression, the cutout of the subject is so beautifully done and the lighting in this icon is really, really gorgeous!

CONSTRUCTIVE VOTES
+ The lighting here is beautiful, and I really like the font choice. However, I think the subject almost blends a little too well with the background, and some more brightness on the subject + a bit more contrast wouldn't have gone astray. It also seems a little blurry in places, so maybe some spot sharpening.
+ I think the text placement doesn't work here. It makes the composition look unbalanced, because the subject is placed in the center of the icon and there's nothing on the right to balance the text out. Nice coloring though, and lovely texture work on the background.

+ I like the stark white text you chose to contrast the blue monochrome coloring. It adds an extra layer of emotion to the scene.
++ The crop is very pretty and the blue coloring fits the mood of the icon.

+ I like the crop and coloring of this icon, and the text matches the feel of it very well. I think, though, that the text might have been placed somewhere else, as where it is now draws attention from the characters.
+ I like the text and coloring a lot, but the base image looks a little LQ to me (their features look rough and a bit pixellated).

+ I'm not sure the playful, cute font works with the otherwise dramatic icon. I love the light on the background but think the character's face lacks a bit brightness.
+ The crop and the placement of the text aren't really working well to flow together. Maybe could have been better with the use of more negative space.
+ The crop is perfect for text placement. I do think black might not have been the best color choice because 'wife' is the least legible of the dialogue and it's the most important word.
+ The choice of font here is really original but perhaps the size and placement could be altered? At the moment the font looks a little out of place so maybe increasing the size a little and moving it so that it overlaps the mans shirt and neck? I also think that using an off-white or light yellow picked out from the icon for the colour of the font would have helped everything blend together a bit more. At the moment there's a bit too much shadow and dark colours and not enough balance with the light colours of the icon.
+ Let me just say, I ADORE this coloring. That texture work mixed with such pretty crop is beautiful and extremely interesting. But the text is too overwhelming; it's taking away the focus from the main character. Maybe a smaller text would've worked better.
+ The icon looks a tad too dark on my monitor and the text doesn't blend in very well. Perhaps another color choice would have worked better here, instead of black.
