PCC after thoughts
Got down with all my panels at PCC and for once...............just once I wish we can do a panel that requires video without any problems. Even thought the Jpop/Jrock panel went over fine, the problems came up in trying to get all the videos to play without a hick up. Something must have happened in the the process because when we did the buried treasures panel problems happened. Legit, R1 DVD's would not play. I ran over to the video game room and I got lucky and I was able to borrow a laptop to finish the panel.
I was a bit worried about the You're Anime Sucks Panel. I was really tired and unmotivated. I accidentally had a huge dinner and that was making me sluggish. I was Texting <span style=orangeoctopus"> about the panel and she was feeling the same way so I was like great this is going to suck hard. So on the way back to the con I got us some Monster Java energy drinks and consumed them right before the panel. It did not take long for the drinks to take effect and we where like ZOOOOOOOOM let's go!
We got into true form pretty quick and we did pretty good overall. Only one person named an anime we didn't watch which kind of surprised me. Robotech, Cowboy Bebop, Excel Saga all somehow managed to escape our wrath LOL. Only one person started to get a little huffy about why I thought Air Gear sucked and we had to explain to her that this was a joke panel. I gave permission for the room to point and laugh at the person if this happens again. I think it would have happened if someone else got huffy.
When calling on the next person, I did the "you in the star fleet uniform" and pointed at someone and about 70% of the room turned and looked. It was awesome. No one was there dressed like that but a bunch of people had to see it.
We also told everyone that the next time you see someone with a Naruto headband on tell them that it's upside down. Once they remove it and put it back on tell them it's still upside down. We said this will bring you much joy as they remove it twice.
A few people came up after the panel and said they liked it and I have to admit this is growing to be my most favorite panel to do now. It's so much fun ripping but in a fun way. I do think I need to brush up a little more on some of the shows, especially this season. I have no clue what's going on with them.
