What an interesting month I have had. Not that it would translate interestingly to the blogosphere, but interesting nonetheless. We recorded drums and bass for our album (did I already talk about that?) about a month ago, and just confirmed dates next month to finish it up. Between then and yesterday, not knowing when exactly we'd get to record, was a very up-in-the-air time. So needless to say, I'm very pleased that we have an end-point in sight for this record that we've been trying to make for literally two years. We don't yet know if it will have a home, or even if anyone will like it. We believe in it though, and that's really all we can count on in the end. Just pick up a magazine and you'll find all kinds of conflicting opinions on what is "good" music and what isn't. Obviously we want many, many people to like our music, but I can't control that. I can, however, control how forcefully I push my band on my friends, so you can bet I'll be shoving the album in your faces when it's done. Just warning you.
Wow. I don't think I've ever used an emoticon before.
These past two weeks Mackenzie and I have been making a very conscious effort to conserve energy and water. For environmental reasons, sure, but also for financial reasons as well. I don't yet know how we've done with water, but I can say that we nearly cut our power bill in HALF from what it was last month! Sweet. It's helped that the weather has cooled off quite a bit. I usually have the air nearly off and the door open. I love the view from our balcony.
