(no subject)
I went to the DMV this afternoon and got a temporary license. My new one should be in MI in two weeks. I can't believe I had to pay $45 to have it renewed. Rarr! I knew I would have to pay something, but $45?!?! Hmph!
I could come up with a million and one things I could have spent that money on. Oh well. I guess I should just be thankful nothing happened all those months I was driving with an expired license.
On a brighter note, my sis and I did go to DSW. I didn't get chunky brown boots like I hoped, but I did get chunky brown SHOES. Doc Martens! They are so comfy. I love em! And, they were about $30 less than they normally are. Woot!
I really should be working on my research grant essay, but the thoughts just aren't flowing. It is stupid, but I can't come up with a page on why I want to do research, what I will add to the program, what makes me an outstanding candidate, etc. Blah. For one, I SUCK at writing, I always have. And another, I can't "toot my own horn." I don't know how to make myself stand out and whatnot. I should also work on some scholarship essays. But, with topics like "write an essay on why you deserve the scholarship...." Argh! I wish I could just whip out an essay with ease.
I best get to brainstorming.
