The Irony in Ethics 132

Feb 13, 2009 10:09

My Ethics class, taught by DeMarco is in room 106 in the Jonas Clark building, which is the main academic building on campus, for those who don’t go to Clark. Almost every Friday the desks are fucked up; arranged in circles or small rectangles. Every Friday I walk in 10 minutes early and every Friday there are 2-3 people (sometimes more if I’m a few minutes later than usual) there before me. It’s a big class-30-40 people-and it is simply impossible to sit everyone unless the desks are arranged in long rows. And every Friday I walk in, put my bag down and look around. And every Friday I begin to rearrange the desks into rows. And every Friday the people already in the room watch. Usually one or two people, who come in to find me rearranging the desks to accommodate the class, will help out. Whether or not they feel bad or actually think the same as I, I don’t know. But I thank them and we sit down and wait for class to begin. This takes all of five minutes.

This is Ethics class. Funny? I think so.
