I just found out that the article I've been writing that was at first supposed to be published in March but whose publication date was moved to April won't be published in April either. Now they're planning to publish it in May!!! :C They said they had buget problems and couldn't sell enough ad space.
I wouldn't have minded that so much, but I felt so ashamed when I had to tell that to the 12 people I interviewed AGAIN! Once is already bad, but now they all probably think I'm some oily flaky con-artist or something! And I pestered them and annoyed them so much to get information from them and they went through so much to meet with me, without expecting anything in return--the only thing I could promise them was that they'd have their words published in a magazine and now I can't promise them even that! T_T
And I also don't have as much money as I anticipated for my March budget. I guess I should have listened to some other writers before me and tried to negotiate a contract that would at least give me some rights. I signed the first contract they gave me, which gave them exclusive rights to everything related to the article and a $0 kill fee! This means that if they decide not to publish the article at all, I'll get nothing! :'( What am I going to tell my sources if that happens??? I'll be a promise-breaker! T_T And they'll never speak to me again because not only did I waste their time--I misled them and I sound flaky like I don't know what I'm talking about!!! T_T
