My pinkie finger isn't the least bit numb anymore! At least most of the time. :P
I also contributed my first comment in working group tonight. I'm so proud of myself. I didn't get laughed out of the room or anything, either. Yaaaay. And the post-discussion mingling was good b/c I talked to two people in my cohort, and the working group discussion ended early, which has never happened before in the history of the world. So that was not worth nearly all the worry I put into it.
Hmm, what else? Oh, I'm rereading I Am The Messenger. What a good, good book. I think Markus Zusak is brilliant and distinctive and I wish he'd come out with his next book already. I wish Garth Nix would publish Clariel already, too. And Clive Barker should just finish up the Abarat series while I'm at it.
The Tin Princess wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but it wasn't bad, either. I just got frustrated by the constantly switching perspectives, which meant being locked out of one or two emotional payoff scenes. I mean, honestly, if you spend all this time forming a relationship with a character, you kind of expect to be invited to the denouement, right? Pullman wasn't so obliging, however. Sigh.
Ordered Hands of Glory online today. I hope it's good. I doubt it'll live up to the pre-Break It Yourself stuff, but I'm ok with that. I like Three White Horses well enough (as evidenced by the fact that I've got it on replay), and I have high hopes for the stylized covers.
