Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Maintenance Mechanic Trainees (various crafts) located in Richmond, California through December 31, 2007.

Position Overview:

Chevron Richmond Refinery is accepting online applications for Maintenance Mechanic Trainees. The crafts for this position are Boilmaker / Pipefitter Trainees, Instrument Mechanic Trainee, Refinery Electrician Trainee, Refinery Machinist Trainees.

The Refinery provides jobs for more than 1,000 people, covers approximately 2,900 acres, and has a refining capacity of 240,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The Chevron Richmond Refinery processes more crude oil than any other refinery in the Bay Area and ranks among the major refineries in the United States. Oil refining is a highly competitive capital-intensive business, requiring complex processing equipment. We operate our own electricity, steam, and water treatment facilities.

Although these are Trainee positions, candidates must possess a level of aptitude/knowledge and some experience with mechanical systems/mechanical instruments or similar equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

Maintenance personnel routinely work around high temperatures, high pressures, hazardous chemicals, loud noises and sometimes at heights of 150 feet or higher. Positions will require lifting, standing, kneeling, and sitting. All Candidates must maintain a valid California Drivers license. All jobs are safety sensitive and are subject to random drug testing. The successful candidate will be assigned to one of these crafts and will be provided a complete training program for the position they are assigned.
