The fact that they went with "the abundance of life and evolution is wonder, and today here the wonder = magic" was exactly what I'm all about. The piles-of-sea-creatures opening is my favorite thing ever. Adorable everything, even the squid. fucking placoderms and ostracoderms fucking everywhere fucking the best. But the rest of the movie just ate your heart. There really wasn't much conflict pressure but who fuckin care just let Miyazaki make you wish you lived in his movies. Little Mermaid OWNED.
