The Big Apple revisited

I had my first business trip this week! I got to go to New York and stay in an awesome hotel, go inside some offices of huge companies (Subway which was in Connecticut...my first time there, Nickelodeon, etc.) and experience the greatness that is New York. I hadn't been in two years, and I was quickly reminded of how much I love it. I'm not going to lie, it gave me an itch to want to move there and go back to school for interior design or something. It's just such an awesome place.

While I was there I got to eat at some nice places (courtesy of the boss!) and attend a very interesting off off broadway show in The Village. I also got to experience Carnegie Deli for the first time. I saw there sandwiches were $20 each and wondered why until I received mine and realized it could have easily fed 3 grown men. I have never seen so much meat and toppings on a sandwich. My bosses found out how much I loved dessert so I got to order a fabulous piece of chocolate mousse cheesecake as well. It was delicious. I didn't finish all of my sandwich (only about a third) so I was said "I feel like I should pack this up and give it to a homeless person." They thought that was a great idea too. Of course, when we left there we were on our way to Nickelodeon, and I didn't pass anyone to give it to the whole walk there. I entered our meeting with my purse, brief case and a sandwich. I'm sure it was a sight. But all hope was not lost. After the meeting, I found an old man digging through the trash cans in Times Square and asked him if he wanted it, and he was beyond thankful and happy. It totally made my day. Watching his face light up was such a blessing.

I got to fly back in first class too! (My first time ever). I couldn't even find my tray table (it's not clipped up behind the seat like in coach) :) My favorite part of first class was the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. I could smell them before I even saw them and was so excited. Yummy!

I also met some very powerful, wealthy people up there that were completely down to earth. I absolutely love that. And I love meeting new people! It was a great trip!

Now I'm back in the Big D and back to real life. But this weekend is a 3-day weekend and the first Bama game of the season so I can't wait! Roll Tide!

P.S. I am currently obsessed with the song "Beautiful, Scandalous Night" by the Robbie Seay Band.
