“Junhong-ah, I’m making a move first. See you in History tomorrow.”
The blond male rakes his fingers through his curly hair, waving a half-hearted goodbye to his friend as he flips through his textbook, desperately trying to commit dates and names to his memory. Why, in the name of all deities and gods of major religions, did he leave revision to the last minute? He shakes off these irrelevant thoughts and buckles down again, fully intending to focus, until a certain male with a pair of headphones slung around his neck walks into the library, casually sliding into the seat opposite Junhong.
“Hey kiddo. Busy?”
“...a little.”
Junhong could barely eke out a reply as he stared determinedly at his textbook, praying hard that the elder wouldn’t notice his face that had obstinately turned a lovely shade of PANTONE 178 U.
“Oh... Need help?”
“Mm...No, it’s alright...”
What is happening; oh god why are you here, why can’t I focus, oh my god leave me alone why is my heart beating like this, am I going to go into cardiac arrest--
Unexpectedly, the said deities and gods of major religions must have been listening in, because Youngjae, the one with the overpriced headphones, decides to roam around the shelves in the library, returning with a couple of novels. He practically devours the contents of the books and ignores Junhong, to the latter’s relief.
This hyung is really cool. He’s really smart...I want to be like him some day.
Junhong pens this down on a little post-it note and tears it out from the pad, sticking it between the pages of his history textbook, then gathers his things up.
“Youngjae-hyung, I’m going home first...I can’t concentrate here. See you tomorrow.”
He leaves a little too hastily, too quickly to notice the momentary look of disappointment that flits across Youngjae’s face, the one who secretly inscribed a tiny ‘JH’ on the inside of his jacket’s sleeve.
