Totally overwhelmed by my ankle that I didn’t blog about last Thursday’s dinner with the hubs at
Aerin’s down at Raffles City.
Here’s what we had:
Pumpkin soup, which I felt was a tad too watery and sweet.
My drink, Jubilation tea, which is a mix of jasmine, osmanthus, and white tea, served with maple syrup if you need a tad extra sweetness. Personally, I found it nicer without the maple syrup.
The hubs’ Perfect Sunrise, which is a mix of elderberry, passionfruit and orange juice.
My main course, Grilled salmon topped with strawberry jam, served with mushrooms and veg
The hubs’ main, linguine with beef bacon served with cream sauce
Dessert, brownies with ice cream
Our meals were part of a set dinner course, $23 for the hubs’ linguine set, and $27 for my salmon set, drinks not included. Only passable, I would say. Somehow, only my main, dessert and our drinks were acceptable. My hub said he could make a tastier linguine himself, and frankly, I think the pumpkin soup that my aunt cooks is much better. On a whole, I’m not sure if it’s because we took the set dinner, but if the ala carte is also not up to standard, we’ll probably not go back there for another meal for a long time. Although, service was pretty good from the staff.
Anyone else has tried out the place? Perhaps you could let me know how the ala carte dishes are.
