Took a short trip to and around Bedok Reservoir Park and back. Didn’t dare to venture out too far; the rain had just passed after falling hard for a couple of hours but the sky hadn’t really cleared.
After we reached the park, it started drizzling. But the hubs and I decided to push ahead, and try our luck. Fortunately, luck was on our side, the drizzle didn’t get any heavier and we managed to cycle round the entire parameter of the park, half on the cycling track, half on the gravel. Hubs thought that it was quite good training for us cycling on the gravel, if we were to try out the biking terrain at Tampines.
When we had gone round the entire parameter, totally muddied and dirty, we toyed with the idea of going on down through the Bedok Park trail. In the end, the hubs decided to head home, as his thighs were tired from cycling on the wet gravel. Admittedly, I would have protested if he had decided to continue, as my thighs were burning and my butt was aching.
Hopefully we can plan for the long trip round the entire Eastern coastal Park Connector some time soon, assuming the weather doesn’t spoil our plans the way it did today.
Total time taken: less than an hour
