Dinner was superb. We had a 3-course meal which comprised of calamari, Presidente pizza and Spaghetti Aglio Olio with prawns. The calamari was something unique as it was more chewy than crispy. The pizza was a real deal coz the crust was super-thin and crispy, the way I like it coz it doesn't fill you up as much compared to the thick type. Spaghetti was a little disappointing though coz the serving was a little small and the pasta a little undercooked. My take on the food: if you wanna go there, just head for the pizza.
Despite a rather satisfying meal for me, Boo wasn't full naturally coz he's a much bigger eater. So we ended up ordering tv snacks later in the night, comprising of a huge basket of fries, the in-house snack combo and a flask of hot chocolate. Yummy... the hot choc was really my favourite. Must learn to make it... And we ate it whilst watching the OC on the telly. Don't ask me which season, I've totally lost track of the show even though I once followed it like a huge fan.
The next morning, we had food trouble. We had already paid for the buffet breakfast at Cafe Brio's which was a whooping $50, but after the heavy late night snack, we really couldn't eat another mouthful. Not to waste our $50, we went down to have each one serving of breakfast, which to me was a total waste. Had I known we were going to have a TV snack that huge, I would really have not ordered the buffet breakfast for the morning. But too late for us, since we had already paid, better to take whatever we could than waste it all.
After breakfast, we went back to wash up and prepare to check out.
We decided to make our first trip down to the not so newly opened Vivo City. It was the new in-thing, with all the publicity and we were waiting for the hype to die down before making the trip down. Oh sheesh... such a big to-do over nothing. To me, I think the entire place is just an enlarged version of most of the shopping centres in Sg. Although, it had my favourite Ben & Jerry's. To make matters worse, I think it was the first time we encountered a change in movie time slot as we had originally intended to catch a show there. The newspapers had posted the show to be at 4.45pm, but when we were there, the only earliest available slot was 6.15pm. Not wanting to wait for so long, we decided to finish up my post-Christmas shopping, and head down to Plaza Sg to catch the show instead. What a downer... Boo and I made up our minds after this experience that our next trip to Vivo City would be months away...
