My boss has a friend with a 12 year old son. The 12 year old son is a genius. He plays chess and has taken the SAT. Today the 12 year old son has come in to help us. In particular, he is helping me with a project I’m working on. I am working with a 12 year old.
The 12 year old son wears sunglasses, a leather coat, and Puma sneakers. He knows how to use Excel and Quick Books. When he is hungry, he says, “I’m just gonna run down to the store and grab a bite-anyone want anything?” At this very moment, the 12 year old son is chatting with my coworkers at the lunch table. He is making them laugh.
So I have some concerns:
1. I think this 12 year old is cooler than I am.
2. What about child labor?
3. Why am I doing this work that a 12 year old could do?
