Orchestra Again.

We're all finished with the Planets now. The concert in St. Mary's Immaculate Church in Sydney went really well. My boss from the bookstore came along with a few friends, so it was good to have someone in the audiance I knew. Nailed the bass soli in Saturn again, so I'm happy.

I was still drunk on the bus on the way to Sydney from the night before. Pigs Peake, my favourite Hunter Vineyard, had it's 2006 vitage launch on Saturday night. It was great! Members only and their guests, so I took my parents and uncle (how rock and roll am I?) but they had a couple of cases of each wine out and you could just go around and pour for yourself. There were fantastic prawns and the freshest, most succulent oysters I've ever eaten, a spit roast pig, chicken laksa, tandoori bbq chicken strips, bbq sausages, a selection of Hunter made cheeses and a few big chocolate cakes. The fortified verdello was on tap from a cask.

They had a guy on guitar and a guy on harmonica who were providing some very bluesy and soulful background music. My dad bought their cd. They were perfect for a winter's night outdoor do. It wasn't too cold, either with all the spit roaster and the charcoal pot belly heaters dotted around the place.

However, I did get very drunk and I think I was still drunk thismorning. Well, I did walk into a wall. Managed to avoid the hangover with some promite on toast and bacon and eggs for breakfast, plus I'd been drinking a few sips of water every time I woke to roll over that night. Didn't sleep very well, so got lots of water.

I was sober by the time we got to Sydney. Managed to get some sleep on the bus, so it's all good.
