2007: The year I watched the Lord of the Rings in its entirity three times a week for a year

So just a couple of things of note. This weekend I entered a whole new level of "eating crazy Asian stuff" by consuming a sea squirt, a sea cucumber and a sea worm/slug thing (haesan- i can't find the english word for it but it looks like a length of pink intestine with a mouth). And did I mention that I ate them raw? And while still alive? It's about as yummy and fun as it sounds.

Also went to the narae bang......again. (i.e a kareoke room). Now I don't mean to be a wet blanket but I think there are two kinds of people in this world. Those that love kareoke and those that do not. I, unfortunately, am I memebr of the latter crowd. I'm not saying I have never had fun at the norae bang or that I'm somehow superior to those that do like it, I just feel that if I don't have a blood alcohol content of at least .01% that I'm on the verge of a panic attack the entire time. And this time I was as sober as a priest. Everyone has that one thing that they cannot do and cannot enjoy- kareoke is mine. I've tried! But I like lots of other stuff that other people (crabby people who shall remained unnamed) don't enjoy. Bowling, for instance. Or mini golf, horseback riding, and working in a greenhouse. I refuse to feel guilty! I am not a social pariah!

Also, this morning was the last day of intensive classes. For the month of January, all of the kids have winter break so EFL (ENglish Fun Land!) offers extra morning classes. This translates into an extra 3 hours tacked onto the 8 hour day so I have literally been at EFL for almost every waking hour of the last month. Halleluah! It's over! In the middle of my first morning class, there was all of the sudden a very potent chemical smell. At first I thought the heater was melting something plastic but then i peeked outside the classroom to see that the exterminators were bombing the hallway outside. The hallway was filled with clouds of bug spray! That was strange enough but then they came into the classrooms and sprayed the rooms...in the middle of my class!
Oh Korea..you so crazy!
