(no subject)
So... I'm awake because I have school at 8. Today we are going from Alberta to Peshtigo to check out this massive fire that occured there in 1871 that, apparently, still effects the ecology and forest health in a huge way. I guess I could see that. Three days ago was a "wetlands day." I mean, once I got over the fact that we had an exam in the morning, it was pouring rain on us, and that we had to walk through swamps/bogs where trenchfoot was probably inevitable, I had fun. Wetlands are beautiful and complex places. I guess that's what my educational focus is on.
Environmental sciences and applied ecology with a concentration in wetland areas. With a Spanish minor.
Doesn't that sound like the right thing?! I still get excited when I realize that I have to take classes related to this! Fuck yes. Anyway, this badass Peshtigo fire should be fun today. It's like a 4 hour drive, we do a 2 hour lab, drive back 4 hours and take a quiz.
The pups slept with me last night and it was soooooooo good. They're big and fat! My mama is coming to Covington! Eep! So is my brother and his friend. They are coming to shoot some deers. I have no idea what my mother and I are going to do to keep us busy. She's not too keen on walking and hiking is about the only thing there is to do around here. I should post some pictures of this pretty place when I'm not busy being scared shitless of living in this creepy old house by myself.
Let's face it, I only wrote this much because I'm lazy and I don't want to get ready for school yet. aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I better get ready now........
