So Tulane is getting rid of a bunch of the engineering programs. everyone knows this...even if you arent an engineering major. and they have some groups on yahoo for people to join together and organize and bitch together. and of course i joined the group just to support my fellow engineers. but i got really fed up when people started talking

i am not an engineering major, so i don't have as much footing to talk about as you do. i have to agree with you on cowen being stuck with a hard decision. he talked to lots of high up people before making this decision, so "blame" (if anyone chooses to call it that) is not all his. PLUS, the reason these chosen majors were cut is bacause they only affect (approx.) 4% of students. I know that's still quite a few people, but if most otehr majors were cut, then more people could have been affected.
i think cowen is doing a lot of good, all things considered. he has no true model to follow of what to do if something like this happened. he is blazing the trail, and trying to do right while walking in a blind path.
you're right, everyone's entitled to their opinion...until it involves the government, then you get your head "mysteriously" blown off....but i digress. The point is..., people telling him to resign... not cool. WANTING him to resign...ok, opinions are awesome.
i'm ranting, and i'm sure ill clarify more of this later.
are you staying at A&M, or are you coming back ot Tulane? (i hope the latter... i would love to be friends with anyone who has the balls to say that in a camm where it wouldnt be widely accepted... and who wants out of texas as much as me) :)
