Early conclusions tend to be grude (or maybe it's just me)
Why people insist on having the house lit as bright as a christmas tree gone berserk I'll never know. Really, you only need a lamp or too to go around, and same goes if you're doing something that actually requires a person to see clearly.
On that notice: if a door or say a window is open just a crack, would it not indicate that it is so on purpose? But no-ooo, someone just have to always close it, without asking, in fact, is this door/window open on purpose...
