I've not been to a real concert since 1993. I've gone to two Cirque events over the last decade, but those are in a big tent with more open seating.
My biggest worry has to do with being able to attend and enjoy a concert event. What seats are good? Will I physically fit in them? Will the queues and walking and waiting be something I can make it through, since I still have some mobility issues? And most importantly, even if I get a great seat and manage to get there in one piece, once the concert starts will everybody stand up and hoot and holler and dance, and since I can't stay standing for long periods of time will my entire concert be looking at someone's back as they jump around?
Sting + Peter Gabriel, two of my favorite artists, are on tour together this summer. They have a concert on my birthday (July 14) at the Shark Tank here in San Jose, which is crazy close. I would really, really, really like to go to this... but I hit ticket-buying-paralysis every time I open the purchase site. They're going to be sold out soon and by the time I figure all this out the tickets will be gone. Cue fretting and panic.
I wish I had a local, concert-savvy friend who could help me bulldoze through this. It's weird that I'm so willing to fling myself halfway across the planet for off-the-cuff foreign motorcycle travel without a worry, but I'm having a total crisis of self-faith over a silly local concert.
