I'm on my way to Seattle to help a friend pick up a used motorcycle he just bought there and haul it back to Sacramento. It's mostly an excuse to take a break from work and get some road time that I sorely need, and hopefully see a few random friends while up there. We're going to take the scenic route and go up via the Oregon coast and around the Olympic peninsula. Extra bonus: it should be raining like mad most of the time. So many sparky-whiskered grins! I'm already in Sacramento crashing for the night at his place; we head coastwards in the morning.
...of course I can't ever truly take downtime. I fully expect once Monday rolls around I'll keep having to stop by the roadside to work on stuff for the office. But that's been my life as a Network Engineer for the last 20 years so I'm kind of used to it, heh.
If you're in the Seattle area and would like a pull-by-say-hi visit feel free to ping me here or on twitter or phone (if you have it). Just be advised that I can't do any big dinners-out or anything while I'm still doing so well on this diet. :)
